News is out that Blizzard decided to scrap the version of Blizz DotA that was shown at last year's BlizzCon. They decided to revamp it so that it's higher quality and more user-friendly.

For those not familiar, Blizzard has made some official custom maps for StarCraft II: Left 2 Die, Starjeweled, Aiur Chef, and Blizzard DotA. While the first three are available now on StarCraft II, Blizzard DotA was said to be the most ambitious one, including heroes and villains from the Diablo, Warcraft, and StarCraft franchises. Although it was pitted to release soon after Heart of the Swarm hit store shelves, now the release date is uncertain.

"What we showed at the original BlizzCon, we've completely flattened it since then and completely rebooted it because we just thought, there's more we can question on this."

"Outside of that I really can't dive into details."

"That's a big challenge for us: taking this concept that doesn't really fit that philosophy and adapting it to a philosophy that's important for us."

Hopefully, fans won't have to wait too long to pit their favorite Blizzard characters against each other.
