Thread: Looking for a decent brutal guide

Default Looking for a decent brutal guide

I've been trying to find a good guide, not so much on how to do the missions but which upgrades and tech to research for the best results. Any suggestions? All the guides I found using google are from months ago and don't seem all that great. Thanks in advance!

Only critical technologies you need IMO are for All-In: the psi disruptor for nydus worms, and the mind control tower for brood lords.

Eh, I found that a couple vikings stationed at each choke point (and two at the command center) along with a patrolling set of 6 vikings did a fine job with broodlord management. My biggest problem was Kerrigan smashing the front door so the planetary fortress is a must in my opinion. (Of course, I didn't get the bunker fortification upgrade either so maybe that was it...)

I was a big fan of the tech reactor...by far my fave upgrade.

Also, don't bother with the stupid predator. You're better off using mass transit for the few missions it could come into play.

The "air version" of all in mission is easier, also mind control is alot better than psi distrupter because you get free units

Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

This seems to be a hotly contested point actually. People like the Psi-Disrupter since it's set it and forget it, but the bonus you mentioned appeals to a lot of people. I guess it boils down to whether you need to free up your attention if your macro is weak.

It's true its a "hotly" contested point, but that isn't the reason why.

Other then the air All In on Brutal, there is very little use for the Hive Mind Emulator. By the time people generally get the choice, is just before going to Char, with few to no Zerg missions left in the regular section.

The main purpose of the HME, is to take control of a big valuable unit, because of the long-ish cool down it has. In any of the Char missions, are you really ever attacked by such targets, even on Brutal? Only really in the All In Air version. The ground version basically just mobs you with shiton of Lings, Hydras and Roaches. And I can count on one hand how many times I saw an Ultra on that mission.

I would rather have Psi Disrupters help my 125 dmg Siege Tanks get lol-kills, then have 4 Ultralisk for a mission where they will just get insta-gib'd by Kerrigan anyway. In the air version... yeah I can see the value of those Brood Lords... but otherwise... meh its kinda gimmicky and means very little if your on top of your unit production and micro.
