So now it's going to work against every single building conceivable?
Why not just bring in 20 infestors and infest all enemy buildings at once so they suffer instant defeat while you're at it?

By the way, did you change your mind about the ability? It now works on all 3 races or what?

20 siege tanks might do the job aswell.

20 siege tanks can't kill flying buildings, can't move while underground, and can't fire from underground. They need to be in siege mode to do anything useful, and it takes a lot of blasts just to kill 1 building.

By the way, that brings up the question, would lifting off your building cancel the process of infestation?

Disabled buildings would be disabled. No lifting off. But keep in mind even 20 infestors can be spotted by 1 obersever, overseer or raven. There slow moving and easily picked off so you have to be careful with them. Like the reaver.

That was more of a joke than anything I doubt it would be a real strategy as getting into a base late game with that many units would be like trying to get into a Terran base late game with 20 dark templars in SC1.

I'm talking about during the PROCESS of infestation, can the building lift-off to cancel?

Would the Infestation have a casting time? And affecting every building conceivable, I guess leave the balance work to Blizzard :P

One thing I can spot though, is with Pylon power.

    Hm, I think it should.
There is still a penalty after all for lifting off all buildings undergoing infestation. You'd have to cancel whatever units you're creating to and lift off, which is still a considerable amount of time lost even if your building didn't get infested.

Yeah, that seems like it could be OP, disabling pylon power could effectively cripple like 8 gateways, or 5 techbuildings.

A casting time would definatly help balance it.

    I concur.

Having a casting time would keep this from being OP. But I wouldnt be adverse to having it not affect pylon power. Its not like a disabled creep tumor would stop providing creep.

I did contribute to the discussion.

I made a comment that was meant to put perspective on this issue:

If you think Infested Terrans are a big deal, take a look at half the other things in the game, because they're even harder to believe. That's my input. I didn't just say "lol" or "this is stupid." Whether the thrust of my comment was to point the conversation in a direction you want it to go in or not has no bearing on the fact that I did say something of value - though you are free to value it as much or as little as you please.

The real question here is why are you so defensive about this? If my comment was so pointless why do you get so riled up about it?

The bottom line is this is a game set in a science fiction reality which is only very very loosely based in scientific possibility. In other words, almost all of the fantastic elements in the game are mostly unexplained and require a measure of imagination, or what you might call suspension of disbelief.

Therefore, by the very nature of the game world there aren't going to be very many explicit explanations for how things work, and there are probably going to be quite a few things that don't exactly make sense (like Mutalisks flapping their wings in space or Banshees using turbines in space).

So I guess what I'm saying is:

    Use your imagination.

There are no explanations, so everybody is entitled to their interpretation. If this sort of thing is enough to actually bother you while you're playing the game, you need to get your priorities straight.

Blizzard shouldn't have to make an in-game ability or mechanic unnecessarily complicated or go out of their way to change something just because the way they implement it is hard to make sense of from a lore perspective. Their first priority is to make the game the best it can be, and then make sure that everything is at least reasonably plausible (e.g. no reavers spewing bananas). Infesters carrying around infested terrans is reasonably plausible from a game world perspective, at least as plausible as Protoss units being transported in the form of energy or ghosts and dark templars making themselves invisible through sheer psionic force of will.
