    ^This

So you guys actually enjoyed scanning planets for half the game? Cause I didn't.
And where'd the MAKO tank go? That think was fucking bad ass!
And what about the Citedel?...I remember it being ALOT bigger.

And to make things worse, they stripped down the RPG elements (the part I liked most from ME1) and replaced it with some action/fps mess.

The game just reminded me of Final Fantasy 13. Streamlined for no reason.

Mining was the worst part. It was also completely unneeded, and if you ever did it you were an idiot.

The Mako got replaced by the Hammerhead in DLC.

And the Citadel area you interacted with was the same as any other main hub.

It was streamlined to appeal to a broader audience. Just like everything else is.

I'm very much a player that NEEDS to get EVERYTHING in an RPG, so flying past a planet without getting a 100% survey rating is not something I can do.....hence the extreme bordem. There was little to no exploration in the game. Everything was just linear story telling worlds. A space game where you can't explore? WTF is that?

I don't have X-box live. Was the Hammerhead any good?

The Citadel was HUGE in the first game and was reduced to a hallway in ME2. Atleast you got to punch that reporter again .

Not saying ME2 was horrible. But game of the year? Hells no.

Okay i finaly started my very first go at Mass Effect yesterday, wanted to see what all the fuss is about this game.
At first glance it kinda reminded me KOTOR, which is good i realy enjoed that game. But after spending some hours on it, i'm not realy enjoing it that much to be honest, hopefuly it will get bether as i play more. :S

    There are some things that started to bug me about this game(i'm playing the pc version);
-the engine is a complete mess, could be that i need to update my drivers but some of the NPC have realy strange shadows, and the game consumes an insame amount of resources which doesn't make sense for such an old game. I get the same amount of fps if i play at 1920x1080 or 1280x800 which is retarded. The game actualy consumes more memory than Crysis.
-the ui and controls are just sad, can't realy say more. I realy hate playing bad console ports. The croshair is gigantic for an fps, and it's realy hard to actualy hit anything in this game, almost as bad as Halo. I also wish there was something else for the talk selection scren instead of that strange circle, which makes it almost imposible to select what you wish.
-The game has hardly any rpg elemets, i thought it would be as KOTOR , but it's not There are no rewards in this game, enemies don't drop any loot , more frankly there is no iniciative to explore anything. There is also no amonition, and you alredy start with every weapon. I'm an "loot whore" in rpg games, i love exploring every last piece of sceneary just to not miss anything.
But this game hardly has anything rewarding to find, you just need 1 armor and 1 weapon and upgrades for each party member and youre basicly finished, complete opositive of KOTOR.
-the ai in this game is just bad, my party members always ignore my orders or get stuck behind a box or any other obstackle. Atleast one member of my party always manages to get stuck behind a box ( i'm on the station for my first time and it alredy hapend 4 times) and is left behind.
    -Elevators ...... nuff said

I realy hope the game gets bether later on ,i'm curently on the station and finishing all the quests i can do there, since i have to, i can't leave an unfinished quest and move on, my nature prevents me. I have just one more quest to finish before i can leave this crapy station ( scaning some robots), and i alredy spent more than 2 hours on that quest, i just canot find the last one, i even used the help of 2 guides to see their locations, but i swear to god one is mising or invisible :S

So you're playing ME1? Few hints:

    - Everyone hates elevators. At least these ones have music and news reports.

    - Personal opinion: FPS are always better on console. Dual Analog > Mouse.

    - You generally collect weapons off kills automatically. You need to open crates to find more. There are oodles of weapons, armors, and upgrades to customize your squad. You just need to find the right menu... which isn't exactly hard.

    - Weapons work on an overheating mechanism, not ammo. If you fire for too long, your gun stops working until it cools down. There are gun upgrades you can install that can decrease the heat created.

    - You get access to all 4 weapon types, but your class can't train in all of them. Its to give you a bit more specialization if you want to deviate from your class.

    - You get access to the Normandy once the Citadel is completed and you become a specter. The first part of the game up to there is to set up the story and background. Once you get the Normandy, you have nigh unlimited freedom.

    - You're scanning Keepers. The one you're missing is likely either the one up in the Normandy docking bay, or the one in the hallway between the Presidium and the Wards. Here's a walkthrough. There is a glitch where the Keeper in the Elcor and Volus embassy disappears, but only after you've scanned it.

    - Finally, remember its a story game. Don't just go through the motions, collecting loot and checking off quest boxes. Try to enjoy the atmosphere, the characters, the homages.

I loved the elevators . I thought it was an awsome replacement to a loading screen.

Man ME1 was an awsome game....I played through it 4 times and got close to all the achievement points.
I think you'll really enjoy it Perfecttear.

    Personally,

    FPS pwn on the pc.

And mining on the pc version wasn't bad at all, I actually enjoyed it, probably because of the patch that sped it up.

And for me, the best part about Mass Effect 2 IS the atmosphere. It's believable, genuine, and I cared about the characters, unlike that OTHER game...

I totaly agree, yet I have 6 playthroughs
in ME 2 I have 5 or more - each 35hours or more

Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

Eh, well out the list of competitors I only recognize Hale and Miranda. I guess Miranda could have won it, but Shepards voice is just mostly flat and/or generic.

So I thought that these things were decided by public voting? I've never had more than a slight passing interest in these VGA things, so yeah...
