If memory serves, Tychus is a proud fundie, and firmly believes in no government interference in capitalism, and supporting the US troops. He supports low taxes, and an "every man for himself" approach to society.

Wow. Writing that sentence just made me realize how similar capitalism and anarchy are.

Nice rant tychus. I would like if all politicians had that view. No minimum wage. Low taxes for richer people. High taxes for poorer people. Low benefits for poorer people. Reduced pensions. Would make the US an even greater place to be rich and punish people for being poor.

Given equal opportunity immigrants would take over though. They generally have more motivation to work harder. And the poor who are forced to starve and work hard to escape poverty but are unable to do so can always choose to commit crimes and take it easy in prison or find work in mexico or canada.

The US should just commit to an almost pure capitalist structure. And no one blames anyone else. Easy to say in practice Tychus but to not be a hypocrite i take it that during the recent recession you blamed the pensioners for losing their own money and for poor households of being stupid enough to buy houses they couldn't afford. And that the banks and financial institutions were unjustly blamed for the recession. And that those with bad health were stupid for not earning more money in order to get better health insurance to not be saddled with hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt. This all sounds almost like a Republican sentiment.:P Truthfully if the US government focuses on preventing companies from cheating people and having monopolies or oligopolies then a lot of problems would get fixed. But of course companies fund politicians.

EDIT: Additionally, it means the US embraces globalisation (including China). Meaning stop trying to force China to raise the value of their currency and stop preventing cheaper foreign goods from being sold in the country. Means quite a lot of jobs lost but they can always move to a different country to find work. Basically the US should stop protecting US companies. It makes no sense at all from a capitalist standpoint.

Like they say, Libertarianism is just anarchy for rich people I'm curious if Tychus is one of the crazy lolbertarians who wants to replace all functions of government with private industry (hooray for mercenary police forces), or if he's a little bit sane.
Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

What would be funnier is privatised fire department.
Man: "My house is burning down!!!"
Fireman: "$10,000 to put out the fire. Cash up front."
Man: "My wallet and credit cards are in my house."
    Fireman: "Better go get them."

LOL.:P Or even worse would be if it's like insurance company hospitals.
Fireman: "I'm sorry you called the wrong fire department. Please request an alternate fire truck from your fire insurance company to come."
