Blizz listens where it counts: Multiplayer

We wanted chat channels, and we're getting chat channels.

We freaked out when they wanted to make fungal growth only affect ground...it is fixed before the patch is even released.

Terren mech was way to strong in the beta and everyone complained: fixed.

I think the FFVII comment was really good. I thought that game was the pinnacle of story telling growing up...i tried to play it again at 25 and barely got past Juno Harbor before I was bored. You'll never make everyone happy. I think they did a respectable job on the single player, and the achievements and difficulty levels definitely gives it replay ability. For sure the story telling is cliche, and the character development was horrible...but it was better then Avatar!

My biggest complaint is that they didn't have enough cut scenes. the ones they had were amazing, but i wanted at least twice as much.

At the end of the day Multiplayer is what maters most and I give Blizzard 2 thumbs up for that. (I'm sure several of you will love to tell me how wrong I am)

Repeating my response in the other thread.

I'd like to cite part of a character bio from the transformers fan universe who may be a newly discovered Blizz staff writer, we can only hope:

    Please welcome: PlotHole.

Profile: ...Little is known about PlotHole's travels prior to now. It is said that he's best known for creating 'focal points' in history; whispering into the ears of those who would listen, and touching upon Heroes who will rise up in their race's darkest hour.

Abilities: Due to his travels, PlotHole accounts for most unknown characters in the Transformers Universe; thus plugging numerous 'plot holes' in the timeline...

Link to full profile. (Scroll down. )

At the very least, we now know what he's using to make his plugs.

I would say, yes, as a whole. The more people agree on the existence of an issue, the bigger that issue is. Do Blizzard writers take our comments seriously or even read them? Difficult to say, but the greater the number of people agreeing that the story sucks and that it sucks for particular and specific reasons and being vocal about it, the more chances for a "yes" to both questions. And consequently the more chances that they may act upon our complaints.

Yes, unfortunately, multilayer is what matters most to their corporate bank account.
    - So, Gerard, I suspect you have a good reason for pulling me away from my Duties.
    - Your Vodka can wait, my good Alexi.

Let's face it: even if you make the most epic story ever, it will entertain you...what? A couple of weeks? A month maybe?

While a good multiplayer is what keeps players playing the game for months or years.

I saw it, and I definitely saw it coming. I can say it's probably going to remain unchanged given the tone of the first ending. I'm really not interested in the story for this installment, I'm looking forward more to the gameplay and the Protoss story; so I don't feel left down so much. Zerg fans might be though.

And in response to the thread question, I think we have the least say in the story, and these endings were probably discussed long ago.

I'm no Broodwar master... what kept me coming back to multiplay was how much emotion and character were in th story. I really think without the story it had multiplay would not have had a chance to evolve. I think there are a lot of people out there like me even if they don't realize it. Yes balance is important and all that other stuff... but without context you just don't get that feeling... its simply pixels and clicks.

Well, that's the difference between trying to make epic games, or just the minimum necessary to make epic profits. In other words they were great game makers once, now they're great businessman. It's sad.

Starcraft was probably the game that first set them among the greatest game makers. It was a masterpiece, and they didn't made the effort to make SC2 as good or even better. They preferred to maximize profits. Now, i cannot even enter starcraft2.com without seeing a stupid huge banner about Cataclysm, or any other random bullshit.

And who hasn't played SC1 SP again and again thru the years? How you think WoL would fare when compared?

This new video is just that: new.
The problem is when you look at their work demo, the stuff for many things...like Star Wars Episode 3 is dead on... 1 to 1 copy.

Even if stuff changes...not much will change, unless they scrap the entire story....which they can't.
What more could change? In the end, the Zerg will "find their heart". Could care less if Kerrigan dies at this point or not. Mengsk is now a supporting character since Duran and the hybrids pose a far greater threat.

And again you had to be pretty big noob about PC not to know about the change, I mean even the birds on the trees knew about it.

How could you guys possibly think this wasn't made my Blizzard or a hired third party? There is no way anyone but Blizzard could of had the time, models, or voices to make this video.
