I'm a little confused. Why did Mengsk try to have Tychus kill off Kerrigan if he had a device implanted to kill her just in case...?

I took it the reason he didn't stop Tychus from taking the Odin was because he wanted Tychus to get close enough to Kerrigan to kill her once and for all. So he had to send hundreds of people to their deaths so Raynor wouldn't suspect anything.
What? It's better than Blizzard's explanation.

Good point. Having the chip implanted is probably foreshadowed during the campaign while they explore Kerrigan's past more in depth; it's just a little out of place to me since I don't know the context of what's happening.
Hopefully this means we'll see another flashback of Kerrigan similar to the New Gettysburg flashback.![]()
