[Spoilers] What the heck is this Kerrigan video all about????

To Answer why didn't Mengsk use it before? Kerrigan has to be in range of the clone to actually feel the effects.
There's probably some unanswered questions regardless but we are missing 25-30 missions + 30 minutes of other cinematics. We are going from WoL to the end of HOTS here guys.

Quick recap:

Kerrigan was Mengsk's personal Ghost escort/etc.
Mengsk was always planning for the future
The girl that screams in the video looks clearly to be a kerrigan clone + has a barcode
The "Psionic-Zippo" appears to be a simple remote.
The real damage caused to Kerrigan is the pain induced onto her clone which appears to be linked to her.
Mengsk says "Do you honestly believe I would keep a beast like you by myside with no insurance?" (something like that)
Probably a long time installed insurance plan.

Mengsk did rescue her from a Confederate ghost program and "Removed" her implants...probably put one of his own while he was at it.

The Kerrigan clone is really an android, hence its ability to interface with the Injectomatic 9000 which is filling the droid with what can only be shaving gel given its greenish hue. This fact combined with the bar code clarify that the clone-android-gel-dispensor Kerrigan is intended for commercial retail thus once and for all proving Mengsk's secret "Arccam's Razor" plan to move in on the lucrative Kel-Morian "Comb-ine" line of men's hair products.

Could be a clone. Could also be a flashback to when Mengsk saved her, meaning she remembers being implanted with something and the pained reaction by the old her was a memory of the device's testing moment.

The bar code is meaningless as it could simply be an early confederate method of tracking its resocs. The Nova novel clearly says Ghosts are all resocialized before placed in the field.

As for why Mengsk didn't use it, he probably needed to give her a designated period of time where she felt in control, both as a human and a Zerg. Furthermore, he may have doubted its potential effectiveness post infestation given her heightened psionic powers and her raid on the Amerigo to lose the rest of her inhibitors (SC1, mid Zerg campaign, Queen of Blades novel), Thus requiring luring her into very close range to retest the device. Mengsk took a huge gamble there. He could not have tested it otherwise without alertingher to/reminding her of its presence.

A note on the reinfestation proposed in this previs, to help those who don't understand why. Because we did not stay with Stukov long enough, we do not know if (a) his deinfestation was permanent, and (b) what his continued health was thereafter. Furthermore, the difference in method creates a different set of variables to monitor. Kerrigan may have to be reinfested simply to survive. Or the artifact's physical effect may not have been permanent or complete on her (note the Zerg braids remaining in her hair in the WoL ending).

On whether this is WoL or HotS: It could be either. I can totally see this as a rejected WoL ending. it is fully plausible that Kerry and Jim would ally against Arcturus. At first, Kerrigan was very bloodthirsty, yes. However, if we consider how she played with Jimmy in the Queen of Blades novel, her human side never left her mind, it was merely suppressed. It is therefore reasonable to postulate that in the lonely years with only the Zerg animals to talk to, she may have melded her two mental halves into a more coherent whole, inclusive of human uncertainties, thus resulting in the calmer, more calculating foe that we saw in WoL. The Overmind at least had an overarching goal to achieve, regardless of how much of WoL we feel free to take seriously.

I didn't like that video.
I loved it.

I know it's not finished, but I genuinely enjoy how the plot of SC2 is starting to unfold, and that video alone made me want to finally get myself SC2.
You can't say it's not satisfying to see that bastard Mengsk finally getting his comeuppance by the two people he hurt the most.

I also would be very pleased if the ending turned out to be something like this. I do have a feeling Blizzard will tweak it, knowing that it has been leaked. I'm not sure what people are expecting from Blizzard. Sure Brood War had a good storyline but it wasn't vastly superior at all. I wasn't much of a fan of the constant betrayals, the UED controlling an overmind and Kerrigan teaming up with the protoss seemed just silly. Starcraft 2 has such a diverse and constantly changing campaign that offers something new in every level. Sure it was cheesy, but I think it adds a certain charm to it.

This ending offers a closure to the Mengsk storyline, and finally has the three main characters (Raynor, Kerrigan and Mengsk) interacting with each other.

The Zerg being free just seems to open up the protoss storyline in the third game. Where Im sure Zeratul and Duran will finish there story established in Brood war.

I think if Blizzard did what some of ye want them to do (i.e throw in all the characters from the series and tie up all lose ends) it would end up very convoluted like Metal Gear Solid 4.

Nobody really brings up how shitty the story is anyway, and only 2% of players come to the forums. The other 98% must've enjoyed the story! Self Ego boost! How can we go wrong if we sold so many?

Starwars prequels weren't bad at all, were they? They sold so many and so many people came to watch them.

You don't know the story when you buy it. A lot of SC2 copies sold very fast because SC1 had a huge reputation.
