    That case is different, they've completely changed the engine.

    They're most definitely not changing the engine for SC2.

    Although, that doesn't have a bearing on whether or not there will be big art changes during beta.

    So, single player only... How long before someone makes the appropriate mod for local multiplayer? Two, three days? Or an hour?

    Mod? You just make a custom map and change the stats on the starport.

    It'll probably take half an hour for somebody to make the entire SC1 tech trees.

    It'll take more time if they need to make AI scripts though, and yet more to change the upgrades, but it's pretty easy overall.
