I won't, it will be my punishment for continually disregarding people who keep claiming beta at ever corner.

However, I have a feeling I won't be chopping off my fingers.

...not that I put any faith in baseless rumours mind you. Just saying, he's got a 1/35 or so chance of being right.

I doubt they'll wait specifically for Blizzcon when they are ready. I mean it's a cute idea, but it doesn't really serve a whole lot of practical purpose. The beta doesn't need a demonstration. Just 'here's the site where you download the client', 'here's the site where you input your key'. Boom everyone who's got a key is playing.

I honestly doubt however, that Blizzard will just put up Beta without any sort of general announcement.

Who honestly thinks that beta is just going to one day pop up and wait for people to check?

I'm pretty sure Blizz would at least say "Hey, we're releasing beta tomorrow. Be sure to check it out!"

Why would they do that...? What's the difference between saying 'it's coming out tomorrow!' and 'it's coming out today!'?

They've never pre-announced a beta announcement like that in the past (as far as I know). There's no point to. The closest thing is opening up opt-ins, which they did months ago.

Hell, it could be an announcement for the specific date of the imminent beta.
