The Sam and Max series has some really good stories. It's an adventure series with fairly simple puzzles and the dialog and narrative is quite amusing and cleverly layered imo. The focus is on the comedy, but there is definitely undercurrents of depth and mature themes which give the narrative a bit of a dark humor side.

It's like that Sprit movie, I've never seen something so bad - look so good. Same applies to SC2.

    i.e.
The rain on char, the speech
The showdown between Raynor and the glasses scientist (when she was infested)
The Final showdown between Raynor and Tychus
    The embargo on Valerian's ship.

All of the commentary admit to "Oh I really wanted this to have that 80's feel..ALIENS and Bladerunner look"
Then someone else "Oh man I just had to put in a William Wallace moment but not make it too obvious, so I used the comm radios"

I realize this is a video game, not cinematography. But Blizzard is...or was...a AAA Development house. They could've done better IMO. But this is why many critics say video games will never be seen as "art".
It's unrealistic to expect AAA Single player and AAA multiplayer. Even games that focus on strictly singleplayer still rely on cliche or tried and true storys (Mass Effect).
I don't disagree with your criticisms, but this is NOT voice acting. Make sure that you use proper terms, because it's very easy to cause confusion by misusing them. Voice acting applies STRICTLY to the actors and what they brought to (or took away from) the lines. The lines themselves have to be disregarded completely.

When I say that the voice acting in WOL is generally way above-par, I'm not talking about the words the characters are saying, or the ambiance of the scenes they're saying these things in, I'm talking about the quality of the acting in and of itself. And it is the very highest.
