Thread: Command and Conquer 4 vs SC2

Default Command and Conquer 4 vs SC2

Remember when we all used to argue about whether CC3 was going to be at better game then SC2? Well its time to start the debate up again!

    http://www.commandandconquer.com/cnc4/index.html

One of the big things is that when you start out with the game you have a basic set of units, abilities, powers, upgrades etc..
As you win games you get experience points and you can buy new things. And yes this includes multiplayer.

And guess what micro fans. no base building! You get one mobile base that builds units, techs, etc...

Nope, don't remember. Since when did anyone think CC3 would be better than SC2?

Seriously?Who the fuck compares CnC with Starcraft?CnC games has always been micro/macroless ,not to say a thing about balance ,the rts that EA makes are only for childs, they are arcadish as every other EA game.I can't even call them rts ,you just gather army ,point and attack.

Sure beats calling down MULEs right?
Nice, and all they had to do was rip off Dawn of War II (excluding the mobility of the base - genius) for their next rushed release of a mediocre game. How innovative.

I find it amusing how, in the period of Blizzard developing one RTS, EA is able to rush out three.

I feel like each of the last three EA RTS games were meant to be an answer to SC2, except once the games were finished, EA got tired of waiting for SC2 to finish and just decided to release the current game and start another one.

I know what you mean, although I dont think C&C3 was so much an answer, Red Alert 3 was definately using the naval capabilities as a direct attack on SC2 (because I remember alot of people wanting naval units in SC2 a while back, not including me), not to mention there was that one ad (if anyone asks me Ill post it later).

C&C4, we'll maybe they can wait for SC2 to come out this time.

Take a step back there right now. CnC Generals (not zero hour) was just as well balanced as StarCraft was. Need I remind you of Patch 1.08 and the Terran Heavy Metal? Yes SC is known for its balance but it is also known for screwing it up.

Generals' story may have been crap but the gameplay was spot-on. In many way I prefer it to SC because SC is all about Micro, which is TACTICS, not Strategy. If any game has a right to not be called an RTS it's WC3 and to a certain extent, SC, for their over-emphasis on the handling of units as opposed to the handling of a war.

But that has nothing to do with CNC4, which looks like utter crap. Stupid EA. They have to keep screwing up.

Actually you're mistaken. CnC3 was rushed to compete with Supreme Commander. They were literally released at the same time. Even funny was that CnC3 Patches were released at the same time SupCom patches were released as well. Coincidence? I think not.

Red Alert 3 was to help bolster Kane's Wrath sales, since if you bought Kane's Wrath you get into RA3 beta. I believe red alert 3 was supposed to compete with the percieved Starcraft release date (or so was rumored) but it never happened.

Now that Starcraft's release date is more concrete, they've stepped up to the plate and pushed out another pointlessly boring, bland and fast and simple game called CnC4.

I'm sick of EA and their business practices. The once mighty struggle between Nod and GDI, Allies and Soviets is now nothing but a marketing tool. Joe Duncan (Kane) is now no more menacing than an overused puppet.

Sad really, art design for RA3 is a piece of trash, similarly for CnC3 and CnC4. At least Tiberium Sun had pretty decent art design, even if it looked drab, it was well designed drab.

    Compare these:

    Seriously what was EA thinking.
