I figure Blizzard has a massive event coming either in or after LotV which grows the story of the first installment. (Maybe in the zerg installment could give some hints if they expand the ending of the first ending more? Hopefully..) Maybe they'll bring UED in...after all, my interest would be peaking if something big was coming. (Which could help turn the tides of battle? Who knows.. We get the hint that the UED is very powerful.. It might be why they don't want the UED in the game yet. )

I think Earth should suspect something by now and should at least send a scout or something.

Also realize that, in order to do the UED justice, you'd basically have to create an entirely new tech tree. The UED isn't just 'another terran faction.' There's several centuries and tens of thousands of lightyears between the Koprulu sector and Earth. The UED military structure, culture, technology (which we only had a bare glimpse of in BW) would doubtlessly be notably different from any Koprulu Terran group faction (hinted at in Artanis reaction to the expeditionary fleet in 'battle of braxis').

As far as a new UED-launched fleet from Earth is concerned, I would have to say no. It's likely that the expeditionary force was a gut reaction. At the time, the UED at best knew about the aliens' strategies, capabilities and biology. Lack of direct contact meant they didn't know much about the Zerg and Protoss' mentality or motives. All they had to go by was that the Zerg were infesting Terran colonies while the Protoss was flying around incinerating planets. Once DuGalle's forces arrived, they would have likely sussed out that the Protoss are not imperialist in nature and that the Zerg were primarily after the Protoss; with neither species having specific intentions for Earth. Hence, it would be smarter to just watch from the sidelines and wait for the dust to settle before joining in.

However, WoL set in stone that there are still remnants of the original UED fleet still operating within the K-Sector in signifcant numbers. Then, there is the matter of Stukov. For HotS, I can certainly see Stukov playing a role; perhaps as a mentor to Kerrigan (both were previously infested and have since been 'de-infested'), possibly in exchange for help in reuniting the UED remnants (and possibly sending them back to Earth?).

Well Gerard Dugalle sent a massage 2 earth about his failure on taking over zerg before he killed himself so do they really have 2 scout?

Well one thing is that Dugalle sent a report, another thing is to keep an eye on a sector totally in flames.
I am sure that the UED has agents observing the situation. The question is just, whether or not, they have mandate to act.
I don't think we will see, a grand army of the UED, but I do find it likely that we might see them in another form.

Directly, no, they've had their chance. I don't know what else they could do that'd be worth their coming back.

Indirectly, no, that would waste precious time and probably a precious cinematic explaining them to the new generation of SC players.

A government created for the primary purpose of making sure that advanced and deadly alien races (which by the way, for the first time in Earth's history were discovered and could hold unlimited scientific potential) don't threaten the planet would not stop after an expeditionary force gets taken out. If anything, the defeat would prone them to invest even more resources into military and intelligence of the sector.

They might not want to do a full invasion, but the legacy should certainly be involved in one way or another.

Precious time would not be wasted. Metzen said the Earth has grown to be a very powerful force with "big guns," so if a full involvement were made, they'd be a fourth key player - a minor involvement would at least (A) re-introduce to newbs what Terran's home-world has been up to since the colonists arrived and (B) continue the epic story begun by DuGalle and Stukoff and at least explain Eath's next move to longtime Brood War fans.

Now imagine that a full-blown punishment fleet, which have been arming for 4 years, to eradicate threats to the future of humankind travels to Koprulu. I'd put my money on this possibility. UED is certainly bound to have a large impact on the story, at least because it's a vast civilisation which you could separate in some respects from our good ol' Terrans. Of Koprulu.
