you must understand, hosting all these avatars of 300kb ONE time to allow every poster to use them at will is one thing. to allow everyone to upload and use their own 300kb avatar is something else, potentially much more draining on storage.

... isnt taht possible if you host it for yourself elsewhere though? and just use a link?
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.
I work an internship at a government agency this fall, and have a good time at it.
I'm being more social, active and honest lately. in all forums.

    Hi.

The Abyss is a stellar classic and an amazing visual feat for its time, show some friggin respect son. Its what Avatar wishes it could have been. 80% on RT is nothing to scoff at.

Sure thing. the problem is that even if I store it somewhere else, that rule will still apply so that's something I'd like to have changed.

wait a second... maybe the place where I stored it was the problem all the time...

    No... it's not

The 56KB rule applies even for files stored anywhere else... *sigh*

An amazing visual feat for its time? Sure, I do not contradict that.

    A classic?

Would have been better, but with that craptastic ending...

May be starting something that shouldn't be started, but I can't help but wonder how that makes a bad movie. I've never seen The Abyss, so I can't comment from my own experience, but for the above points:

    a) Very strange things live in the depths of the ocean-it's a poorly understood ecosystem. From wikipedia, I'm not sure whether the creatures are actually aliens or deep-sea life, but does that matter.

    b) Um, The Day the Earth Stood Still, anyone (the original)? It's not exactly a strange message in the history of science fiction. It's not even strange in the real world. MAD is both a word and an acronymn.

    c) Why is that bad? Are aliens automatically better aliens when they do mean us harm? I dunno, could be a personal taste thing-I can't help but roll my eyes at the trailers for Skyline and Battle for Los Angeles in recent times, how aliens seem to be invading Earth for the sake of it. Some could argue that faceless invaders make them more alien, but...meh. I prefer a motive. Lack of conflict isn't a bad thing either.

Hey Gradius, I'll S your D if your next project is to upload these as higher-quality animated PNGs [somewhere off-site, so you don't eat up bandwidth ]
