There are three ways you can do this. First, you can try to make it yourself (that is, if you're able to compress the file enough). If that doesn't work, you should try to become part of the staff to get one. Or third, you should blackmail Grad into giving you a unique one

    a) Very strange things live in the depths of the ocean-it's a poorly understood ecosystem. From wikipedia, I'm not sure whether the creatures are actually aliens or deep-sea life, but does that matter.
When you think about it, it /IS/ ambiguous, but general consensus is that they were aliens. As for deep-sea intelligence, it kind strains the boundaries of science that post-Stone Age culture could develop without fire.

But this is Science Fiction. The impossible is merely a days work.

To be fair, MAD is the most stable system in a nuclear age, and Humanity itself is rather unhinged to begin with.

I dunno, could be a personal taste thing-I can't help but roll my eyes at the trailers for Skyline and Battle for Los Angeles in recent times, how aliens seem to be invading Earth for the sake of it. Some could argue that faceless invaders make them more alien, but...meh. I prefer a motive. Lack of conflict isn't a bad thing either.
Well, "Alien Invasions" are kinda trite to begin with, in the narrow sense. You have to have a reason for them to invade and kill us off, rather than launching a Relativistic Kill Vehicle and coming by later to suck out our resources.*

That said, I do like plots revolving around non-violent relationships with aliens, which is why Larry Niven is one of my favorite writers. Known Space and the Tales from the Draco Tavern were particularly good, have yet to pick up "The Mote in God's Eye".

However, the Abyss... My problem with it was "The ending".

-The aliens KNOW that Humans are Bastards, even showing the guy who dived down a video of Humanity's atrocities. Presumably, they would have wiped us out if it weren't for that one guy diving down and showing them that "hey, we aren't all that bad."

-A guy and his girl, this close to getting divorced, get back together and kiss in front of everybody after a near-death experience.

-The characters seem split between the starry-eyed engineer who takes credulity to a whole new world, and a psychotic SEAL member who is bound by his paranoia and carves rank chevrons into his arm with a knife.

-Ultimately, it was a 'take that!' to the Cold War... released at the end of the Cold War. The VERY end of the Cold War, when Russia was falling apart. Could have been better, and it's beautiful to watch, the story just rankles me.

*A message to the Visitors in V (1983).
By going to all the trouble of lying to us, instigating a vast government conspiracy, and not having your Doomsday Device primed and protected from human saboteurs, just to get our water when you could have just stopped by Europa, you are automatically dumber than the Britannians in Code Geass.
    Congratulations.

There's always photoshop. Reverse direction, adjust the coloring, etc, and you have a unique avatar.

    I did that now but the pictures aren't rolling anymore! D;

I could photoshop every picture, but do you have to save it in a special way or use another program 2??

Hey gradius, just wondering, how did you make the avatars?

I tried making a few and it was a ton of time, did you have a fast method? Especially since they repeat really well.

You'd need Adobe Imageready or fireworks to work with gif files.

After you record the video from the previewer, you can use virtualdub to export it to a .gif file. It has little bars that you can use to select when the animation begins & ends. I used fireworks for batch-compressing all of them after that.
