Default Voice actors, who is on the chopping list?

Hey all, with SC2 story not being good, I know there are people who didn't like the the voice acting as well.
I personally think its more because of bad writing that the characters are overall just not interesting enough and there is no actor that can make a cheesy line sound not cheesy.

I thought it was overall good, but can be a lot better. Having said that I know a lot of you aren't satisfied, so who should be on the chopping list?

Nobody is going to be cut. And not everybody agrees with your opinion of the SC2 campaign sucking. Stop touting your opinion as a general consensus.

A majority of people agree SC2 campaign sucked. Stop changing the point. It sucked to the point where nobody is really even bothering to talk about it.

It's like walking out of a mediocre movie when so many good movies are on. Nobody really cares and that's the real shame in SC2.

If you don't like the game keep your complains 4 your self!

And if you could pick even one RTS game with a more kick ass story then name it?

<-Is it just me or does it look like the Mohandar avatar is... jacking off o.O

Acting was fine. Main thing the story needed was a villain. Kerrigan was a non-character, Valerian is ambiguous and shows up at the last second, and we needed some more direct contact with Mengsk. I'd actually say that the Tal'Darim were the best villains in the game in terms of actual development. We know that they'd do anything for holy relics, had almost gathered all of the artifact pieces for themselves and that they are race traitors who have earned the animosity of the Dark Templar. It's a decent amount of Protoss development considering it's just a few Terran sided missions and I feel that I know more about them than Valerian.

    This.

One thing that I've observed is that the "majority of people" flood the forums within a week of the games release date, say something nice, and then most of them just leave the haters to hate. SCII is the same. If you glance at the first dozen pages or so of the early hater thread on the battlenet forums, you'll see that "SCII sucks" opinion is a long way from unanimous.

Blizzard likely already have the story planned, and they probably have a more accurate method of estimating the general consensus than what a minority of core community members with several hundred nit picks, subjective opinions, and the odd valid point to their names have to say.

Personally I think actors that need to go are,

    1) Kerrigan's actress, although she didn't get much dialogue, what little she said left me unimpressed and I really hope she gets her shit together for HotS.

    2) Zeratul. Just awful, although I'm sure part of the reason why is his dialogue in general. Pretty poorly written.

    3) Artanis, just terrible.

Some others that you didn't include, Tassadar is one that I didn't like.

Tosh and Valerian and Warfield were pretty good though.

You know, just because the original was better doesn't mean SC2's story sucked by any stretch of the word. First of all, we've only played the first part out of three. Second of all, WoL had a solid story with interesting elements and characters. By itself it was really good. Just not the perfect, epic, intellectually-challenging space opera we were hoping for.

Anyway, on topic, I really hope they will get Kerrigan's old VA, but I don't think that's possible. The VAs I hope they get rid of are Tassadar's (Love star trek, but Worf as Tassadar? No.) and Zeratul's. Though to be fair, Zeratul's VA might not be at fault here, his character is just written HORRIBLY.

Wasn't that actor still around for Diablo 3 though? I don't see what we can do about it if he simply decided that he didn't feel like voicing Tassadar. Maybe we'll get lucky, and it'll turn out that Worf was merely a stand in actor and get the old Tassadar back for LotV. It's 4 years away, D3 should be complete by then, so I guess it is a possibility.

Going on the high and mighty road, but I think a chill pill is needed.

Thing to remember with anything is the "silent majority" concept. When people comment on anything in any discourse, it is more likely that complaining is the more likely course. It is rare to start a discussion based on praise, as there is no goal. To start one on criticism is more common, as it's aimed towards a goal (improvement). Something that anyone should remember with such criticism is that its presence does not necessarily indicate a majority.

Polls are perhaps the most impartial way of gauging opinion avaliable to us. The poll, at this time of writing, indicates that most are fine with the voice acting. I am too. Still, it's just that-an opinion.

    Edit: Should have typed faster...
