It popped into my mind for, like, five seconds, tops.

    But since you insist.

OMG, guyz, beta is on 24st.

EDIT: Also, I can't wait to see this. Should be good.

Most likely I could be wrong, but I recall a non-StarCraft player who attended majority of the conventions that demo'd StarCraft 2 builds. I think it was MooN, but it could have been a WoW player or another WC3 player.

Anyhow, I recall an article about how that certain pro-SC players (Korean ones methinks) were worried as when they played a friendly MP match, they normally lost. Was that just my imagination or was it someone else?

SC is a pretty balanced game int terms of micro and macro I'd say 60% micro 40% macro

War3 has a different share of like 80% micro 20% macro

SC2 as it looks like now is looking as a more micro oriented game that its predecessor, given that there are much more micro dynamics.

They are both great players. My money is on Moon though =)
Ermm, maybe I wasn't explicit enough, but concerning UT2k4, Q3 and CS that's exactly what I was inferring (I thought those games spoke for themselves) . Maybe you were just confirming that though, not sure^^. Q3 is much closer to UT2K4 than it is to CS. And in the same manner, SC2 is much closer to SC:BW than it is to WC3.

Also, concerning the micro/macro ratios you were giving, there probably way more macro in SC:BW than you suggested. Of course in the middle of a battle there's a lot more micro, but throughout the game macro is dominant (you can look at a pro-replay using BWcharts to somewhat have an idea of the ratios). Hence, imo, the advantage than an SC progamer would have on a WC3 progamer.

I think you try to much to find a similarity between SC2 and WC3. A top progamer in WC3 CAN become the best SC player. Nomatter what you guys think about WC3, the game is very micro intensive. You surely deal with my units in StarCraft, but the new units mechanics of SC2 are nearly a port from WC3. A good WC3 player shouldn't have too much problem to port from WC to SC2, in fact, he could even be closer than a Starcraft 1 player.

And Hammy, you got the real point here, Macro is of course a SC gameplay. But since eveyr single units now have special abilities to increase the necessity of microing, I really think this match can be very tight.

I think SC players have the disadvantage with all the new features added to SC2. There are a lot of subtle features like smart casting that would throw off someone conditioned to the current style of spell casting. Smart casting is a feature prominent in War3. While it's not to say a SC player can't adapt to this easier system, years of conditioning could make it difficult to adjust to.

The most significant advantage a SC player has is being familiar with the fast pace and macro. War 3 has very little macro, and the pacing is a lot more lenient to control micro. Units don't die in split seconds, and heros with abilities change the course of a game. None of this will be the same in SC2.

They're both the most accomplished player of all time in their respective Blizzard games. To discredit one of those games over another is ignorant. It's really as simple as that.

Oh, you were counting metals. I was just counting how many people gave a shit about the person, knew who they were, and how many cans of cola they appeared on. My bad.

Is that what constitutes accomplishment to you? And they're called "medals" not "metals". Also just because you're a dumbshit that hasn't heard of NaDa doesn't mean that he isn't incredibly famous, yes, on a boxer level. (he is.)
