Thread: Who do you want to see become the Legacy of the Void protagonist?

    New Character.

I do think the campaign should revolve around having diplomacy and involve peace keeping while trying to rally together a unified army, but I don't think it should be in the PoV of Artanis or Zeratul. We need new blood. It makes no sense for Artanis or Zeratul to do any trivial peacekeeping missions.

Think of the Orc Campaign in Frozen Throne. We had Thrall in a position of power trying to build up Ogrimmar, and we follow Rexxar as the guy who becomes the champion of the horde who does all the stuff a warchief can't be bothered to do. Artanis and Zeratul would be the same way, since it wouldn't make sense for them to go off exploring or doing side missions when the FATE OF THE UNIVERSE RIDES ON THEIR ACTIONS. Save them for special missions that call for it, the same way WoL handled Zeratul's missions. We need a new guy to carry out the orders and become the new champion of the Protoss.

Arcturus Cocky, AND trusting? Yeah, I doubt it.

As for Kerrigan, she had some character development, but like most of the characters in the game she existed primarily to forward the plot. Most of her character development was in True Colors where she reveals her motives for Duke and Arcturus, and her very unzerglike reaction to Jims accusations, and in the after mission briefing and her "weariness of the slaughter" which is confirmed when she leaves everyone alone at the conclusion of BW. I'd go so far as to bet that she only wanted to kill the cerebrates, but then the UED forced her hand.
I agree that Zeratul's reaction was too soft. Then again, she did help them get the crystals, and without those Shakuras would have been overrun, so...

And I wasn't for a moment even considering that Arcturus is trusting. He thinks of himself as the great manipulator and was simply sure that he was in control of the situation. He thought his persuasion skills would be enough to get Kerrigan to fulfill her end of the bargain.

Anyway, that's just my interpretation, I could be wrong. I think we should let the other people in this thread discuss what the thread is all about now.

I think Arcturus knew he'd get screwed, but he didn't know how. Furthermore, he desperately wanted Kerrigan's "plan" to work, because the alternative (execution, loss of the Dominion) was too much to bear anyhow.

She killed Aldaris right when he was going to say what was it's dark secret. I think it's so obvious that the only explanation is that Zeratul grabbed the idiot ball. Basically, BW mades no sense.

To be honest, it's not like WoL mades any sense right now. Unless Kerrigan allowed Raynor to de-infest her on purpose, i don't see how he could do it. If it were so easy to attack Char, someone should had wiped the Zerg from existence, and there will be no problem anymore. The Hybrids wouldn't have any Swarm to lead.

The only hope for SC2's story, is for Kerrigan to allow that, because she knew that it was the only chance. Maybe she visited the Overmind before Zeratul did. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense.

It'd be a suicide attack on Char unless they had an artifact. Zerg would've wiped Terrans out sooner or later, the goal of the attack was to activate artifact before it.

ugh..NO. too many protoss have been exchanged in the games and the addition of new people would mean that you would either have to screw up MORE (if its even possible) the existing characters or destroy them (again absolutely no since the protoss got already too decimated in the games), after all zeratul never accepted his duty and thus artanis leads...I see no issue about ''tribal leaders'' getting themselves bothered with TRIVIAL (???? the hell???) peacekeeping missions since the whole damn universe (currently) depends on them to get their balls together or all is lost, thus making even more sense for zeratul to hop in... i can totally see why an experienced and knowledgeable person should not bother himself with it..so jeah..i'm totally against what you propose..

(i'm not including artanis in cuz blizz said zeratul will be our pov, but i do expect his respectful ass to be in there actively too)
Can't figure if Zeratul is trolling or...

IF you were paying attention, you would know most of the swarm was attacking the Dominion but still the remaining forces were still too hard to handle without the artifact. Din't you see the report where it stated the Zerg onslaught withdrew when you started to invade Char? I doubt they could've staged an assault at all if Kerrigan's forces were not spread out throughout the sector.

let's just that even 20% of Kerrigan's army would wipe the handfull of half of the dominions fleet and whole of the Raynors Raiders
oh and let's not forget that on Char during the attack there was more than that 20%, Kerrigan wouldn't just leave herself exposed...but we don't know that and this is speculation only and what I think
    Kerrigan's forces were in bilions
