Here's an thought, Similar to Aerial Shackles if Graviton Beam did damage over time, it would make phoenixes much more efficient. or make the channel only stop it's movement but still can attack

too bad PDD stops Phoenix attacks. they should make ground units take Graviton beam fall damage.

The Phoenix was meant for micro. Well yes of course any unit could be cost effective through micro but then the Phoenix's superior speed and shoot on the run mechanic makes it exponentially better through micro unlike the other units.

the thing is, it doesn't have much range superiority to the mutalisk, to shoot you're either in range or you're not, no matter how you micro you're either in range to attack/to be shot or you're running

Yes, but they cannot attack air, so the Phoenix bonus doesn't really play to much of a role there. They could suck vs Light, and still would be effective against them.

I think they're most useful when the enemy doesn't have decent anti-air, so you can harass and GB some units, but that's all. Once the enemy gets some, you cannot really do much with them, as they're anihilated in a second.

I agree 150 mins 100 gas is pretty pricy...thats more then a stalker! for that price I can get 1 zlot and one sent! or a stlaker and bank 25 mins and 50 gas...still find its good just not cheap.
