in ME you have epic voice acting, in SC2 it's all blank
oh and as far as I recall only Trisha did the voice acting in both SC2 and ME2 where she was... an AI synthetic voice and of all actors it is Trisha who... well she is a woman... so suck ...bal ...nah

Edit: Now I know why her (Trisha's) acting in ME2 as an AI was great, her acting is pale, without dept; just like in SC2
oh and Liara T'Soni's voice actress from ME is Dr.Hanson in SC2, these gals are the only actress in both WoL and ME

Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

I enjoyed the story, and character development. I am looking forward to the other chapters. There is hardly any other company that would support their games with a series of books and comics too. Metzen is the head of the Starcraft and Warcraft series, and i admire his passion after all theese years. I dont want to see SC adopted, Metzen is the father, let him raise SC.

Pardon me if I'll take that over an RPG system any day. WarCraft III always felt like an RPG with armies tacked on for looks to me, even in multiplayer.
Yeah wasnt very innovative. They couldve expanded the adventure gameplay beyond the damn hyperion. :S

The OP is ridiculous. Most of who responded to this thread agree the story wasn't excellent but hell, as some have posted, would you fire the persons that created this universe in the first place? Please...finish it.

Like hell it wasn't innovative. It took non-RTS elements and tied them into gameplay and story seamlessly.

As for expanding it beyond the Hyperion, they did; at the end, you're no longer buying mercs or upgrades on the ground, you're hiring them from the surface of Char. Sure, I would have liked to see some action inside a bar on Hell's Gate or in a dropship on transit to the Hyperion. But you, my (Glances at portrait) 'artistically inclined' friend, are mistaking bells and whistles for genuine innovation.

I thought the story was pretty good. I really liked the characters they created and the in-engine cinematics. I think they've got some good stories left in them. It's prob. hard to be stuck with the same fictions for so long. I'm sure they'd like to do new stuff.

They need to really put a lot more effort on what they're doing. They should re-play SC1 several times, and try to deliver the same universe they created there. The story is very important in this game. How the characters were developed and acted. All that contributed to the game's success.

Well judging by the poll its safe to say more and more people are becoming impatient and sick of excuses for the poor story.
Considering they had something like 6 years to develop a story vs 18 to 24 months now, things aren't looking too promising.

It sounds like you care more about the idea of innovation for the sake of innovation, instead of innovation with a place and reason. They innovated a LOT of the game, in all of their games, many would argue this is one of the most innovative jumps they've done since WC2 (textbook story) to a true expansion of the Story of SC2.

I don't see this having ANYTHING to do with innovation and believe you're barking up the wrong tree. I believe it's simply design decisions that went on a different path and set of priorities. SC1 wouldn't have been able to have ANYWHERE NEAR the depth of story that it had if players could choose decisions such as "Trust Kerrigan this time... tell her to go away". Many of the decisions made by characters drove levels of trust, created tensions, allowed foreshadowing and created a constant thread of changing alliances and betrayals. This all simply wouldn't have been as powerful if you could skip entire chunks of the story leading up to pivotal parts.

In fact, some would have a good basis of argument that the innovation actually killed much of the story.

You have a poll of less than 50 people, majority of which are saying "No, don't fire the people who CREATED THE STARCRAFT UNIVERSE.". By looking at your words, your votes could have went from 1 to 2 and you could say "well, more and more people are wanting to say no!".

Let's also realize that you are putting this poll on an sc2 website, you will specifically be targeting SC2 gaming enthusiasts instead of the general population who purchased the game. This poll, unfortunately, has no actual worth in terms of supporting a point.

You're also moving forward under the assumption that hiring a new writing team will create a "better" game moving forward.

Sorry Dustin, but I see a massive amount of logical holes in your mentality on this thread. I would jokingly say that I'd take a stroll through the holes.. but they are so large and are so numerous, I should just get a hummer, grab a few people and start a roadtrip.
