Default Metzen and his team should retire?

We can all absolutely agree that SC2 story was not the best one to say the least, in fact it was childish, cliche, cheesy.

How many of you think Metzen and his writing team should retire and get some new talented people write the story.
Metzen can still act as a librarian and tell if the new writing team has swayed from the starcraft concepts somewhere, but ultimately he won't have any part in it.

I think your opinion is greatly biased with your expectations.

Wings of Liberty was not the perfect story we all expected; that is sure. It had its flaws and aspects we didn't like. But it is too early to say it was an awful story. Remember it isn't the campaign story, but the first chapter of the trilogy. Probably some loose ends of WoL will be dealt with in HotS, we will have to wait.

For now I agree this wasn't the epic story Metzen could have done. But I also don't think it was bad, in fact I enjoyed it. But that's it. So I don't think firing the team would be the solution: give them time to clear their mind what do they want to end with. I think that the story was rushed (I know they took hell of a time to release WoL but most was because of multiplayer balance). I would wait patiently another delay if that means we will get the epic sequel WoL deserves.

I think Blizzard needs to grow up. If you're going to make games about war, make them mature. Humor can be mature.

I don't think Metzen should be included in this. We don't know how involved he actually was with the story.

What I can see though is that they try too much to write stuff as a team. It can work but usually I think the best ideas are originally born and developed by one individual. Since their team has grown in size, I believe that's what's holding them back. That's my opinion.

    YES
nothing can repay me my lost money, the game supposed to be epic (singleplayer) while it's not, oh I like how they don't know their own made up lore for WC and SC as even the most geekest fans can question them ...
HotS will be pretty much same, game with potential wasted by cheap story, voice acting and lines
DS is also right, no swearing, lack of blood, lack of killing in a game about war is as almost ridiculus as Tassadar lovin the Overmind...oh wait that just happened

Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up

Don't care, everything in this game is fine to me. storyline, singleplayer, multiplayer. Just add chat channels, clans, ability to watch a replay with your friends and everything's gonna be fine.

I have no mayor complains, but some things was a bit retarded.
like when zeratul met the hybrid in the mission A sinister turn he had no idea what it was or who made them but if you look back 2 sc1 he discovered Samir durans plans to create hybrids but have seem to forgot it all in sc2! D:

But I really don't think that retire the team is a good idea, they are still doing a great job with WOL and i look forward 2 the rest of the sc2 trilogy!^^

<-Is it just me or does it look like the Mohandar avatar is... jacking off o.O

Who knows, HotS could be to WoL the same as Empire Strikes Back was to
New Hope. As in, bad guys win, really dark story, etc.

Something I think a lot of people haven't talked about is the fact that pretty much the only facet of the game that the community didn't have input on was the story, and a lot of people are thinking that the story is the weakest part of the whole game.

Now that Blizz has seen some of the community opinions, they know they have to get their head in the game and do a better job.
