    Reapers were never the problem, yes sometimes they can overwhelm you, but that is only on certain maps where there are opened ledges all around your main base.

    In fact I've never seen reapers winning games, it happens but its something like 30%, which in my book is totally balanced, you just need to know how to defend.

    Marauders on the other hand are strong counter vs everything, siege tanks, roaches, colossus, immortal, hydras, ultras, stalkers, vikings in ground mode, archons, etc....

    I mean they counter all units in the game, even the ones they really shouldn't counter, even zerglings have trouble against them, especially since most maps have tight chokes.

    I for one would like all these changes taken back and see only a nerf to marauder and maybe ghost EMP AOE.

    Although, do you really think a RANGE increase will upset balance? Try taking a look at WHAT IS ACTUALLY CHANGING and not default to "roaches are getting buffed, now their going to be OP."

    Like what happened with Zealots in the last patch. It might suck vs Terran, especially with those super early reaper/marauder pushes (which are being FIXED in this patch), but against Zerg, what difference did it make? People thought that Zerg would be able to overpower toss early game, and you'd never be able to get enough zealots. Were they right? No. The difference is that early zealot pushes happen later and with less units. Did this suddenly break ZvP? No, because it was 5 FREAKING SECONDS. Protoss still has plenty of options for dealing with Zerg. Protoss doesn't NEED to destroy Zerg early game.

    Yes, it will change ZvP. Basically, it will make Roaches kite zealots easier, and harder for stalkers to kite roaches.

    I actually think most of you are overreacting. I have yet to see game-breaking roaches (except used by me "chuckles") when I play terran or protoss. I think the changes are good. It's not like you would want to get your barracks before your supply depot in a normal game anyways, unless you are doing something cheesy.

    They are not really "balancing" something, they are more reworking the game mechanics without touching everything at once. First they started with protoss proxy nerf and then proxy terran nerf, next we will see is problary a proxy zerg nerf if needed and a good nerf is brought up that doesn't change the way you spawn zerglings mid/late-game. Remember you can't really push back the spawning pool build time or the zergling build time it would mess things up to much and this is also the case with terrans they couldn't really increase build time for barracks or marines. Instead added supply need.

    The change is actually good, but misplaced. I would like to see Marauders nerfed and then asses the balance from there. If we avoid the root of the problem we would just be sticking holes and just bigger ones popping out. But if we tackle the problem at its core we create a strong back-bone for future balance changes and a smoother path to total balance.

    My guess is that since in SC2 unit pathing is so much better, units clump together so much more. Splash damage units therefor do more damage compared to SC1... so a nerf was needed.

    Reapers need to be removed from the game. It's a stupid unit that's way too hard counter while being absolutely useless on the field as an actual unit. They either need to do less damage or be a bit stronger but right now they're just way too skimpy.

    I don't understand why Blizzard overnerfs them so much. The 5 sec lag to reapers is already good enough IMO and I'm a zerg player. Once I get speedlings reapers are pretty much useless. Along with some micro with queen and if I scout them and get roach it's kinda pointless

    If you were playing against better players, those Reapers would still be killing your Speedlings.

    Is it really so hard to understand that this game is going to take years to balance? I just laugh every time balance discussions come up. It turns into amateur balance hour and everyone has the solution. I'd love for someone (and no it won't be me) to work up the balance changes the community clamors for in the map editor just so we can see how "balanced" the game becomes.
    I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

    I disagree. It's always the same people who think they have the solution and throw around what the game "needs" without a second thought.
