But those guys choose to blame the immigrants rather than solving their own problems...work is scarce but not impossible to find...
And voting for the Swedish democrats won't exactly help with finding work but rather, it would probably put a lot of factories out of business...

to them it's like all immgrants get all jobs and they're left out...

then again, most people are selfish assholes so this is to be expected...
    maybe i should move away...

i reckon a hermits life is comfortable at times...
    i won't miss people anyway...
I was going to post something about that but I thought, "Would anyone even reply to it?" Although that's because of the history of not being replied to. I even remember pointing something out hours before someone and then when someone mentions it, it's like, "Oh! Thanks" or something similar.

Anyways, I do realize why they do that. They might just be using them as a scapegoat. The classic, "I'm going to take out my anger/frustration on them". Or something like that. Although some do it because they don't understand why it's happening. They've tried countless times to get a job but they can't. They might even be good employees who for some reason can't get a job. So when they see immigrants getting jobs, they're confused, angry, etc.

Others don't know what to do so they believe the politicians when they say "[x] group is to blame not you!" Even more if they use common stereotypes, whether they are true or not. The one that is just ridiculous is when they say black men are [x] times more likely to end up in jail and yet, around here, the majority is Native Americans or whites.

Still, you can't just get into countries, especially Canada and the US. They grade your "desirability". If you have post-secondary education, you're much more likely to get in. But you know what sucks more? When people have university degrees and are renowned back in their country of birth but chose to immigrate to another country for more opportunities only to end up being taxi drivers, telemarketers, etc.

I can understand the "that country's degree isn't accepted here" but having to go through school again? The degrees are pretty much worthless, but if they aren't accepted or good enough, why did they let them in the country because of that? I've heard that question and concerns it not just from documentaries/interviews but even from white/European doctors.

I remember a bunch of years ago, when people said that the robots (referring to the motor industry, for example) were going to steal people's jobs. Guess what, it wasn't the robots, but the ones that buyed them. They're producing more with far less people that works the same or more than before, and they're getting insanely rich, while unemployment goes rampant.

The technology was meant to make people's lives better, not worse. But of course, greed always shows it's ugly face.

Poor inmigrants, they surely wouldn't had leaved their own countries if they had any other alternative. Not that a damn line traced in a map should make any difference, anyways.

wait... why wouldn't people take notice of you?
    i find this higly preposterous...
then again, you're a mod and people never trust those with more power than themselves...

a big problem that is a concern for all, not just the immigrants is the kind of work people are given... this is only strengthened by what you recently said: 'that people with some kind of degree or even master's terms are ignored or even looked down upon in other countires'
you'll probably find that most immigrants in those countires have usually have jobs ranging from easy to find low-pay jobs to average business merhandise that doesn't require all too much effort to maintain...
what bothers me is that most ''white'' ''or purebred swedes'' (i hate those kind of arses who take truimph in their ''purity'') usually have shots at getting a job, they just won't allow themselves work in a place they that's far too ''classy'' for 'em...

i'm not saying that one should have to wrok with something you hate...
but using in-bred stubborness and refusing to work with anything not even remotedly close to a CEO in a giant cooperation...

    bah... me and my blah-blahs...

as for norfindel, i never trusted robots and the idea to create machinised lives is utter foolishness and will lead to complete misery..

not only will they destroy the life of many of we don't just simply use them for medical purposes but now people want me to feel sorry for them?
    for imginative emotions?

Well, with the proliferation of international transport, it is much easier for immigrants to move to a country which they believe could improve their lives.
However, growing numbers of immigrants in many first-world countries are having an impact on various socio-economic factors. This causes a blame-culture, propagating the never-ending class war between "us" and "them". The immigrants become scapegoats for the failures of others.

Not to derail the topic, Senervo, and as much as hate the old "but look at [x], they are much worse off than you" argument, be glad you're not in South Africa.

I know. That's what's ridiculous. They often leave family members and friends behind but they have to. It's easy for Caucasian/European people to say, "Go back to your country" because they don't know what it's like. No amount of news broadcasts or even pictures can compare to actually living in those conditions. And while I wasn't born in a Third World country, I think I can understand them better than they can because of my ethnicity.

As for robots, I have never trusted them. Given them the ability to adapt and learn is a recipe for disaster. If I were a robot who achieved sentience, I would definitely turn on humans.

See, here's the sad part: I posted way more often before I was a moderator. I had something like an average of 5 or 6 posts per day and they weren't those simple posts that never contributed anything. And here's the weirder part: Some people think I've changed since I became a moderator and that sooner or later the power is going to get to my head. I haven't changed at all. I'm still the same friendly, random and helpful member as before just with less posts. And I've been in countless many positions where I could abuse power in life but I never did be it over a group of people or something else.

    Anyways, back on topic.

It is true that most are that way but that makes the situation even weirder. They complain about immigrants taking jobs that they consider beneath them, like maid/servant, janitorial, factory type jobs as well as taxi driving jobs. People who are born in first world countries are way too spoiled. Not all, but a large portion. They don't have the stories from relatives (or even close friends) or the teachings of those who have been less fortunate in life. They complain about things that these immigrants don't mind among other things. I'm not even going to bother listing them since I'm sure anyone here could come up with a list.

As for robots and pity: That reminds me of that one moron who said I should feel sorry for a sociopath. Why should I care for someone who could never genuinely care about me and who would do horrible things without remorse? I will give what you deserve but I will not tolerate anything for any longer than I should.

The whole scapegoat thing is exactly what I mentioned earlier on in the thread (first post on this page).

I'd rather not think about the topic of Africa considering my ethnicity (don't want to reveal which country in specific though although I will say that I am half of that ethnicity).

Also, something weird that people just don't seem to get: Africa is a continent not a country. You always hear them say "Russians" or "the French" but never "Europeans". I can see why but it's still stupid.

I am fully aware, yes. I read and understood your post. Just reaffirming it :P

That's primarily due to the lack of knowledge about Africa and the countries that comprise it. I recall a US university textbook which featured a global map.

This map had water where Africa should be.

    WHAT?!?!?

Even a kindergartener should be able to notice something wrong with that map!

Holy shit! What's the justification for something like that??

If memory serves, it was an economics textbook. The message behind this is simple: Africa is, essentially, a massive monetary sink-hole, something investors should avoid. But that's a story for another time.
