I was going to post something about that but I thought, "Would anyone even reply to it?" Although that's because of the history of not being replied to. I even remember pointing something out hours before someone and then when someone mentions it, it's like, "Oh! Thanks" or something similar.
Anyways, I do realize why they do that. They might just be using them as a scapegoat. The classic, "I'm going to take out my anger/frustration on them". Or something like that. Although some do it because they don't understand why it's happening. They've tried countless times to get a job but they can't. They might even be good employees who for some reason can't get a job. So when they see immigrants getting jobs, they're confused, angry, etc.
Others don't know what to do so they believe the politicians when they say "[x] group is to blame not you!" Even more if they use common stereotypes, whether they are true or not. The one that is just ridiculous is when they say black men are [x] times more likely to end up in jail and yet, around here, the majority is Native Americans or whites.
Still, you can't just get into countries, especially Canada and the US. They grade your "desirability". If you have post-secondary education, you're much more likely to get in. But you know what sucks more? When people have university degrees and are renowned back in their country of birth but chose to immigrate to another country for more opportunities only to end up being taxi drivers, telemarketers, etc.
I can understand the "that country's degree isn't accepted here" but having to go through school again? The degrees are pretty much worthless, but if they aren't accepted or good enough, why did they let them in the country because of that? I've heard that question and concerns it not just from documentaries/interviews but even from white/European doctors.
