    Default GOM.TV

Is anyone else having issues with GOM.TV? I'm trying to watch some of the GSL videos, and have been for over a day now. The whole website seems to be a mess. I was just able to create my account. Earler, after I filled everything out and hit create, nothing would happen. Maybe they're just getting way more traffic then they can handle. I just thought I'd see if anyone else is having the same issues.

Oh well. Thank god for sc2casts or I might have to work more.

You are not missing much. They only give you the first game in each series for free. To see games 2 and 3 in each series then you have to pay for the subscription.

From what I have seen so far in the free game ones I have watched, the skill difference is no higher than all the stuff we get for free on YouTube and other tournaments. I think all the real Korean Gosus are still playing Brood War and under contract that stops them from kicking the crap out of Idra.

Oh... and as for your login issues: my email to activate my account went to my junk mail folder. Have you looked there?

Not even that great so far. Why anyone would pay for that kinda thing is beyond me, the random replays we get for free are usually better...at least thus far. It's only in the ro64. And the HQ stream isn't better than anything on Ustream or Livestream.

too expensive for nothing. Just because its SC2 doesn't mean its worth subscribing.
Also the low quality stream is unwatchable, youtube videos are far better in every aspect.

There have been a few good games in the RO64, but it will ramp up significantly in the RO32 and RO16.

A lot of the tournaments we have had so far have been basically the top in the world, and this tournament has some unknowns still.

I think some of the most interesting games have been the TvP, just because the protoss get crushed by stuff that I havent really seen yet. BC rush, marine+banshee+raven, marauders sniping nexus and some other stuff.

I bought the subscription because I want to watch it live and see the matches, I also want to support it because this is the future. The prize money will lure some people in to play hard, so I expect big things in the coming months and next year

the GSL and its coverage is hugely awesome, but GOMs own webplayer seems flawed and the website regisration doesnt seem to work very consistently.

... thankfully, the fact that VOD's are available for those that manage to register properly & actually pay for premium, they in turn can make the VODs available to the general public, though that publication probably isnt legal, it certainly isnt illegal to watch it:

... i dont think its realistic for GOM to shut down 2nd hand uploads of their VODs .. regardless of how they choose to handle it, VODs will surely be available to all of us, one way or another.

best would probably be to give premium users even higher image quality but make sure that others sill have access to all games through their own website, as to maximize their exposure.
I am an enthusiast of good strategy games, sc2Esports and rollplay, although i dont really play anything atm.

It's true that Youtube's 360p is actually better quality than goms HQ streams but as TheRabidDeer mentioned, it's supporting a great tournament and there's some real gems out there among the duds, but the point of the tourney is that anyone can enter. Hopefully they'll improve the video quality in the future but everything else is pretty good and getting better each day.
I really need to change this...

Yeah. I don't know what you guys are talking about who are saying the replays aren't special. Granted, there are some bad ones, but also there have been some of the best games I've seen. Just watched ro64 with Tester...that guy is pretty much the best player I've seen. I hope he plays Idra and they can rematch the king of the beta...I think Tester has it now. oGsTop has some good games too. Even the tankboy series was really good even though they hated on him in game 1. I highly recommend watching the GSL games though. They just posted TLO and Artosis games as well, but they're not up on youtube yet. That why I'm tempted to just pay so i can watch them now.

My only concern is everyone is saying the Quality on Gom.tv kind of sucks compared to youtube.

gom.tv is pretty close to the 360p quality on youtube, but at least on the gom.tv you get to see the english stream instead of the korean one with english voiceover.
