If I'm not mistaken, Raynor mentions to Findlay during the Mar Sara missions that the Magistrate had made him marshal specifcally because of his shady past and that because of his reputation, never once needed to fire his gun.

I kind of like this. Reminds me of Seven of Nine from Star Trek voyager -- one of the most compelling TV personas I think I have ever watched. I LOVED that character, and Jeri Ryan's performance. I hope that we see similar things with Kerrigan, with a lot of internal pain and struggle and her rediscovery of her humanity.

I'll laugh if we end up in the Hyperion again. Then Zeratul takes refuge in the Hyperion in LotV and then the entire trilogy is set on Raynor's ship. LOL
Decepticons, transform and rise up!

I think those who mentioned the Queens was in the right direction. In the second-to-last mission in the campaign, if you were to choose the ground-based mission to take out the Nydus Worms, there was an extraordinarily large queen present. While the regular Queens may watch over a hive, these large queens may be the ones lording over broods now. We already know they are quite intelligent, and I believe it possible that they could function without Kerrigan. And when I mean function, I don't mean they could replace Kerrigan, but that the brood would at least be able to defend itself and not fall into chaos as when Zasz died in the first game.
This may be very well be how HotS ends up working. We've already been told that Kerrigan is looking for ways to mutate/evolve herself, and that the more she does, the more Zerg she can command again. As Kerrigan grows stronger, she will likely have to reclaim these broods, and each of these broods will have a new upgrade, building, unit, hero unit, etc to offer Kerrigan, but it will also open her up to the various brood queens that will give her more means of communication within her base of operations.
As for the cerebrates, I'm sorry, but they are dead. They cannot live without an Overmind and it's already been stated that they're dead and gone. Could their essence/spirit/life force been transferred to a hero Zerg unit, it is a possibility.
Also, Kerrigan may be able to find more humans with the Zerg compatibility gene, so we can't rule out the possibility that she will be able to converse with, and use in battle, some infested Terran generals (like Ethan Stewart was).
So for Kerrigan, the possible conversations in her campaign could be with:
- Queens (or Brood Queens)
- Infested Terran Generals
- Intelligent Zerg Hero-types (perhaps transferred cerebrate consciousness)
- Overlords/Overseers
I think the last two are the least likely, but still possible.
