Yeh, pretty excited to finally get 1000. I had such a slow start, being stuck in platinum basically up until August 20th or so, and I kinda gave up on laddering 1v1 because of it for a while. Its not fun, knowing people can go 40-20 and be 800 diamond when you are 50-20 and not even in diamond yet =[

But I figured out that basically, since the ladder is eventually going to reset soon, mise well just mass games to get those icons fast. Even if you only win 1/3rd of your games, your icons will stay there and after the reset, you will be 0-0 again with all the icons! So im massing Random games in team, and gonna try to get that Tassadar icon someday also in solo lol. (mind you, ladder reset probably wont be until like July of next year.. and who knows if things wont be totally different once HotS gets here, maybe all our old icons will be gone?? but eh, who cares)

It does feel good to not only have 1000 Diamond in 1v1, but 4000 Achievement points also.

For the last 3 days I have had a bad lose streak due to intense lag spikes. One emp, or one fungal or just the basic control of my units...

Growl's profile straight confuses me. More wins than losses and hes got 0 points. Then you look at his 2v2 team and he is at 1043 points (although bronze still) and is only 28-17.

acoring to taht match history hes getting normal + points when winning team games, but never losing points when losing them.

for 1v1 he never wins more than 1 point, but sometimes loses two points..

i guess his hidden rank is messed up. not sure from what. disc-hacking?

Man, I wish I didn't play yesterday. Lost 80 points... almost at 50% WL ratio. I think I will get to 50% and then start to play and get better. Just don't have the time to play as much as I would like. Also, never play when you are sick and tired...

That's exactly what I try to avoid, taking the ranking too seriously. I know it's really hard to take all this lightly as we all want to be on the top of the ladder. But sometimes, it just makes the experience worse, as when you lose, you hate urself or the game, and it makes you just want to play when you really are on top of your shape and stuff. I was doing that when I was playing WC3, and I didn't like my ladder experience, now on SC2, I came with the goal to have fun, of course improving my play and be the best I can, but without worrying too much about my rank. And it made, as of now, a much better experience than it was with WC3. And even if i take it more lightly, I am performing much better than I was on WC3 cause I'm very calm during a match, I feel like I am playing a computer, or just a friendly game, which helps me.

Nyway, just reporting my own experience.

I know pennoyer has been sending all his SCVs first thing on 2 player maps only, and thats all he does. Everytime hes vs a terran, he leaves instantly (because they can fly off, making his games too long).. so thats how he was able to win 3000 fast.

the other guy, I have no idea, but im assuming a similar type thing. maybe he actually played 200-300 games originally before he started doing it though.

He played badly to get into bronze on purpose- he watned the zen master. And got it by SCV rushing everytime. He'd lose enough to stay in bronze where SCV rushing would work.
