Naahh, not as much...But you know who she really looks like? Rachael Taylor, the Australian actress who starred in the first Transformers live-action movie:

Compare it with the artwork of her in the art thread...

Kerrigan wasn't an uber ghost until she was infested. She just had a unique genetic structure that made her susceptible to the Hyper-Evolutionary Virus. Otherwise she was pretty average power-wise. (Other than obviously being a clever commander in the Sons of Korhal.)
But Gabriel Tosh said she was the top of the top at the Ghost Academy.

Also, I agree with everyone thinking that it would likely be Tosh in that single ghost mission. I was under the same impression.

It's because they've done something that they're named. I.e. A character gets named only if said character is important. And a character is only important if s/he does something.
I know... but every ghost that we've seen DO something is an uber ghost. So I want to see just a normal ghost or someone who isn't OP (like Tosh maybe?) take on the mission... to show that regular ghosts are extremely useful in themselves as well.

blizzard should release an official HQ version of all unit portraits next.

i still like the old zertaul in SC1, he was both very mysterious and powerful looking.

Now zeratul is kinda weak and old looking.

Agreed. His old portrait was undisputably badass, with those dark shadows lining his face.

I have to agree on that, but hey, he's all about redeeming himself this time around, so I guess a less badass portrait fits.

EDIT: For some reason, I thought the page with all the portraits was actually from a magazine...looks like it was from Blizzard's walls... D:

Heh, that was my first thought.

That's sort of a retcon then (not really, but still)... because she didn't seem to be in Uprising.

The only thing they note her for is that the Zerg respond particularly to her, over other telepaths.

EDIT: Though he just said she was a 'Legend' even before Mengsk stole her from the confederacy. That could mean a number of other things...

That's no retcon. She was able to melt parts of a gun with her mind as an eight-year-old child and could throw her instructor around with telekinesis. Kerrigan was always an above-average ghost. (In Uprising we didn't get to see her do much fighting, and her most involved combat scene was against another ghost.)

They never said other ghosts couldn't do those things. In fact on the Hyperion she's on pretty even footing with that other ghost on the ship.

I don't remember the gun thing, though. Was that in Hybrid?

EDIT: Okay, let's put it this way.

Above average? Yes. She's definitely not average.

Extraordinary? No. She's also not particularly special. She's skilled.

What? Telekinesis? It's from StarCraft: Ghost: Nova (only ghosts PI8 or higher can use telekinesis, the average ghost is a PI 5 or 6). But if you don't like the novel, you can tell the typical ghost doesn't have that kind of raw power just by reading the manual. They can just read minds and pump themselves up, and anything else requires technological assistance.

Her psionic powers aren't that helpful in a fight anyway. Exploding someone's brain (which she could do pre-infestation) took a long time; she only could do this when her opponent was nearly helpless, and she probably wanted him to feel pain anyway. However, that's vastly beyond the power of a typical ghost.

No kidding. She might not be a better fighter, but she's a better psychic, which (unless you're Nova, or Infested Kerrigan) isn't very useful in a fight against a reasonable opponent. Or maybe said ghost was also above average.

Also, read Liberty's Crusade. That's one of the better books. Kerrigan demonstrates her badassitude numerous times, especially when she raided the Antigan command center. Okay, she did use cloaking, and that's sort of cheating, but she threw away her gun rifle halfway through the fight (I guess she didn't have time to reload) by smashing it through a goliath's cockpit! She was also able to break an opponent's neck with one kick.

I don't remember the gun thing, though. Was that in Hybrid?
There's a lot of Hybrid (heh) stuff in Uprising. Maybe it was just Hybrid.
