    Because they are progamers. While they are really good at what they do, metabuilds are not for them. Many are used to the old muta micro, just as many hardcore players were. Finding a "boxer" is hard because when you win games you are likely to stick to a gamestyle. Just as White Ra excels at cheese tactics and IdrA at macro.

    I'm pretty sure that this has been said before, but StarCraft BW wasn't balanced for years after it was release - it took an expansion and 15 or so patches to do that. Blizzard is listening, and I have faith. There's only so much work that can go into a game that will be played competitively by millions before those millions actually get their hands on it.

    You realize that thors didn't always do splash?

    ...meaning that, unless you never had mutas vs. thors until patch 11 (?), the "moment" you had them this technique would have done nothing.

    Also, a lot of T's were getting raven and more marines against zerg before, which nullified mutas more. It has only been a recent development that it was mainly just a couple of thors to hold off muta.

    The magic box technique was also used on BW. Mostly for spellcasters like High Templars. It ain't nothing new. People are taking advantage of the small splash radius

    According to forum searches, Thors got splash with whatever patch came around March 30. No, I was not in the beta at that time.

    The only big thing I notice is how weak Toss is vs. air in general. Their only GtA is the Stalker, and it's not particularly effective.

    The key is to use Sentries as well . Guardian shield reduces incoming ranged damage by 2, which includes the Muta's glaive wurm bounce damage.

    Instead of doing 9 + 3 + 1 damage, unupgraded Mutas only do 7+1. Guardian Shield effectively makes them do something like 5 less damage!
    The only place for a hamshank is on the dinner plate!

    There's a reason why Edward Longshanks was an evil git in 'Braveheart'! Down with the shanks! All of them!

    I think having SL down to 30s instead of 40s would change things for the better. That and add a global Larva limit of 60.

    Or, reduce drone morphin' time to 15 from 17.

    I dont think there can be any changes made to the SL timer since it would just mean you need more than 1 queen to get the most use out of it.
