It doesn't have to look advanced for it to hurt.
In this day and age, we have lasers, bullets, and other things.
But if you touch a lit medieval torch, that fire is going to hurt just as much as it did many years ago.

Very good idea, I'll support it (never was happy with the Thor anyway), stick it in as a 'hero'.

True, very true. The same goes for knives, spears, swords, etc. we don't use them as much now because guns have good ranges, but they're all still deadly.

Besides, the point you're trying to make is kinda ruined by your artwork, the 'ion cannons' are too big and look too flimsy to actually work with the Thor model.

the ion canon can be an improvised smaller version fort the thor. Well my image was just a general idea, if blizzard makes one im sure it will look a lot prettier and better than the ugly looking flak canons.

Still no, the guns look as good as anything could on the Thor. What's wrong with it is that Blizzard is unprepared to accept that they made a bad call on it. Humongous mecha simply won't work for the Terrans.

I as well would support removing the Thor. While for reasons other than gameplay (I think it fits well as a spearhead unit for gameplay). I just personally think it's a distasteful unit.

Why? SC1 was old and full of flaws. Terran were not supposedly limited that way.

They have the bc, and a large mechas are terran as well, and this is what the terran should be like in the first place.

The Swarm Guardian was official for a long time as well, and that was far more suited to the faction it was in. I also refuse to accept the Thor getting he ion cannon, first because it'll look like junk, and secondly because there's no reason to replace the cannons it currently has.

How come it looks like junk when the canons is the one that looks like crap.

I mean the overall flaws of being an old game. Everything basically improves in a sequel and starcraft lore in sc1 is no exceptions. Things should look better, powerful, impressive, in a next sequel unless it is meant to stay that way because of fixed lore. Starcraft terran doesn't have an actual fixed lore in terms of units and weapons, its because it was 10 years ago and blizzard imagination was limited as well as ours and not because those are the only things/units the terran can build. Now we can think of new things like the transformer viking, colossus, new and better stronger looking siege tank, and basically all improvements and changes and that includes giving the thor mech a better cooler weapon. We have seen nothing of the actual terran in sc1, it was limited in all aspect just like the way we think back then.

The ghost in battle of amerigo was totally bad. Awesome back then but really dumb and mediocre now. yeh this kind of flaws fpr an example.

The starship troopers advertisement was corny and annoying and now in SC2 i believe they have improved or have lessen it.

yes the goliath was small and very low class of mech function and desuign wise (robocop pig mech). and thats why The terran needs a better mech and its not because of gameplay etc. Lorewise the terran just need to look better now in sc2.

Thor belongs in gundam? thor is just 100x better version of the goliath, and don't tell me the terran can't build something like the thor coz that would suck them up lorewise just like in sc1.

I don't completely based the new terran with the way they were in SC1. The new terrran in SC2 is what the terran should be like all along.
