Even before the zerg turned on the Xelnaga though, they still had those innate qualities of assimilation, conquest and evolution, even when they were still those little worm things. They were altering the bodies of their hosts well before they rebeled against the xelnaga, that in itself is aggressive behaviour and would likely continue on down the road.

Perhaps the fallen one made the overmind want to seek out the protoss specifically and destroy/assimilate them but even if he hadn't, the zerg would still want to evolve into the most formidable creatures in the universe and would fight the protoss when they made contact.

And now the issue with Kerrigan, well I do think the original game portrayed kerrigan as having been morally/ethically altered by her infestation. Like she is sending out telepathic messages of "help me!" and then Raynor comes to help her and suddenly she's like "fuck off." That seems like an alteration to me. But that doesn't make the queen of blades any less of a real character. I think that the queen of blades was kerrigan who was altered to be a bit more bloodthirsty and thats it.

Well I am not gonna disagree that the infestation did not change her. I simply contend that it did not change her enough to make her into a different person or a trapped being.

You know Tenabrae, I'm really starting to think your theory is gonna pan out. Hell it might also explain why she was so bland the sequel.

"All I gotta do is kill things and they'll come after me, so I can act emo because I'm EVIL!!!"

LOL I love that abridged parody xD

You guys seem to have forgotten that Kerrigan was a bloodthirsty killer before she was infested too, just wanted to point that out. You're points are damn excellent, but take this into consideration.

When Mike walks in on Kerrigan as she kills a room full of people. Looking for a quote now xD

So you're saying she enjoyed slaughtering people before her infestation?

Maybe not enjoyed, but it was necessary. She could see her killing during path as the Queen of Blades necessary, and the Zerg part of her enjoyed it.
Means are the same, ends are different.
    Theories here.

I wouldn't count her out yet...like I said, what they made it seem like may be far from the truth...this could all be going according to her plans.

By directly referencing Queen of Blades, AND indirectly admitting that you actually LIKED it, all your arguments and thoughts on SC lore are, by default, invalid.

    Oh! and welcome, Tenebrae!

Her breathing heavily just before ordering the betrayal of her Allies in True Colors , her defensive nature when Jim confronts her after she kills Fenix, and her ending the mission by saying "For the first time since my tranfiguration, I am, wearied of the slaughter" are not signs of some raging monster.

    This is HER.
Retcons have to go against things that were actually established, not assumptions you made. Yes, she was freed from the Overmind's direct control before the Brood War, but she still had the corruptions. She wasn't a rampaging monster, but it was never established that the core of who she was had been permanently changed and she would still be evil if she was deinfested. Hell, it might even turn out that you're right and she'll spend the next game reinfesting herself because that's what she wants to be.

There is nothing wrong with it, some people just dispute over if the books trump the games. And IMO they do since they often make the plots more coherent and gave them better flow than the 10-mission campaign allowed.

I ARE A PROPHET! I've predicted three major aspects of SC2 correct, more or less.

June 2007 - I predicted the Protoss campaign would give you new tech as you conducted diplomacy among tribes.

    Hidden Content:
July 18th 2010 - I predicted Raynor would broadcast information of Mengsk's actions on Tarsonis to discredit him and incite rebellion.

    Hidden Content:
June 16th 2010 I predicted the Voice in the Darkness was the commanding force behind the Hybrids. I'm calling it half-right.

Dunno if this is a retcon, but it's funny to me:

Turning Goliaths into terran versions of Dragoons, since, if you notice on this picture, they clearly contain legless and fat terrans who are severely modified even with augmented voices without any kind of outer microphone/speaking apparatus.

And creating an artifact that can also kill Protoss, even though the Xel'Naga temple on Shakuras only killed Zerg. (It's not a retcon, I guess, but I still can't see why Protoss should be let to live whereas Zerg would die.)
