Enjoying this discussion, so correct me if im wrong about this but lets say...

One tank has high ground(cliff) looking down into the overfog! ( Is he providing vision into it?)

    or

Terran moves out with some hellions and lets sayyy tanks!.... Assuming you have cloud over your units...is this to say that basically unless you have a air unit you have to currently have a unit inside the cloud so that your tanks can fire into it...meaning that you have to run units into the zerg army to even fire at it?

I forsee some fun dancing in the middle of the map ;d

No, high ground would not affect the LoS into the Spore cloud, ground sight is still ground sight, and only air units can see "over" the cloud.

As for the second statement, yes. Or scan. (which would be the smarter option).

I think sending terran air into the cloud just for vision will be a risky venture. Hello hydras, goodbye Banshee!

If I had to guess I would think that units in the fog of war would be like Blinded units in SC:BW.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I think the answer is yes. You either need an air unit or a unit inside the cloud to see into it. Or a unit outside of it to see out of it, as the case may be.

Hm, don't think you need to send them INTO the cloud to see, but I could be wrong about that. That'd certainly make it much more powerful anyway.

I'm not sure either. They would at least have to get somewhat close. Closer than where the tanks are parked, thats for sure.

Hmmmm I wonder if players would ever use a MULE to see through spore cloud. Most likely comsat but I suppose if you didnt have the energy.

I don't see why not. it would conserve you comsat energy.

I love the idea of "blinding" tanks with spore cloud. It's so 40K.

I wonder what it looks like, graphically? A ring shape that expands out? A solid green cloud?

How? Mules and comsat come from the same energy source. It'd be better to use a scan, since Mules die faster than a scan does.

Because you get more than one MULE? Sending one of your MULEs if its convenient to check out a cloud would save you the energy of using a scan, since you already have MULEs. Non one's saying call down MULE specifically to look at a cloud, we're saying if you're already using MULE, then lose one to scout a cloud rather than waste a scan. Is this complicated?

I'm fairly sure he was talking about calling a Mule down directly on the cloud. After all, you could send a Marine walking easier than a Mule walking.
