What a bad poll. Almost certainly everyone is going to pick "other" or "because it's awesome" because many players play more than just use map setting or just ladder.

I do pretty much everything starcraft has to offer... I prefer map making over everything else though but atm I don't do anymore maps until sc2 comes out.
Hahaha, nice thread, I play Starcraft because I've been playing it since forever and usually just UMS and muck around with friends, but sometimes get some melee games on Bored Aussie as well
Battle.net is full of Koreans so I don't go there and sometimes play on ICCup, not doing very well though, got off D- to D then went back to D so I can't be bothered![]()
Like Warcraft 3, I play Starcraft to make maps and just to test them out. Until Starcraft 2 comes out with all its glory. I will be sticking with the Starcraft World Editor.

Singleplayer all the way! I LOVE the campaign storyline, which is THE reason I'm gona get Starcraft 2, is for the lore and the campaigns. Then I started watching many korean sc players on youtube and surprised my friend during a couple of multiplayer matches lol. I owned him repeatvely with the Zerg.
sorry with the spelling I'm French first english second lol.
Single-Player only these days. Been more than five years since I played on Battle.net (mainly because I managed to happily lose my CD key and had to resort to a fake one to install StarCraft again, and haven't really gotten about to buying a new copy yet).
There should be a causal gamer option... but I’ll just go for its awesome.
Back with all gun's blazing.
I play to hold my interest until StarCraft 2 and because it's my final farewell to my favorite game of all time up until now. But, before StarCraft 2 was announced I play the game seriously because I enjoyed the challenge of honing my skills.
Also, it keeps me from losing my hard-earned skills for StarCraft 2.
Use to be a huge fan of random 1:1's and team battles with friends. Never bothered with ladder.
Lately I can't bring myself to play SC anymore because its just too antiquated, and knowing there's a much sexier sequel in the making makes it too hard to muster.
