Thread: A few Blue posts from today about random details

Its like and upgraded dark swarm.
I wouldn't exactly call it "upgraded". It's not nearly as utterly destructive as D-Swarm can become; all the Terrans need to render it useless is a simple scan. Or just a flying unit.

However, it is on a very massable, cheap, flying detector that you get with Lair-tech, and almost assuredly without research.

I'm not sold on Transfusion however. 200 Hp for 100 energy. That's a lot. Even worse, there are so few Zerg units that can even have 200 Hp. I mean, what are you going to use it on? It's not like it's AoE or anything; it's single-target.

It seems best to use it on defensive buildings.

So uh, since the dropship has a landing animation now, does selecting unload and clicking on the dropship still allow it to drop while moving?

Also, I think transfusion is a boring spell.

Just so there is no confusion, I was asking about the 2 gas per trip gas mechanic from SC:BW. Ive asked karune this question like 7 times. Maybe hes just dodging me :P

There actually are a fair amount of zerg units with over 200 hp. I was suprised.

    Kinda the point I think.

It's only useful for Overlords, Overseers and Ultralisks really. And buildings.

So wait, what does that make the Queen's spells now...?

Spawn Larvae, Transfusion and Creep tumour?

Sounds interesting. Hope they upped her stats to compensate for the loss of Razor Swarm, though.

since the dropship has a landing animation now
No, Karune said that there was an animation for the drop. That doesn't necessitate that the DropShip lands. It's like the transport effect when Warp Prisms drop things off.

If Transfusion was building only -- or even massive only -- that would be very useful.

Why would limiting it make it more useful?

Oh right. I was just instantly reminded of the SC2 announcement Protoss demonstration when they mentioned drop animations.

The lurker seems like it might be worthwhile to use it on, even though (according to the sc wiki) it only has 125 HP.

Also, I'm sure transfusion will be integral to the defense of a Zerg base when used in conjunction with spine/spore crawlers.

It's probably also going to be a life saver when your hatchery/lair/hive is nearly dead and a couple of rambo units could finish it off.

But I still find the ability pretty boring.
