People Calling GG for You...

Just had a match where I got FAST ling rushed, and couldn't stop it. So the guy called GG for me, before taking out really any SCVs. So, to spite the GG, lifted off all of my buildings, and I'm currently waiting for him to tech to anti air, and find my CC and 2 barracks. Figured I'd post this up while I'm waiting for him to do that.

If you get linged rushed.. just take the defeat. And against, zerg, you really should wall-in.

Recently I got drone rushed by a guy and he managed to kill off all my workers. Drones are a bit tougher than scvs and he had me outnumbered. So, out of spite for the ultimate in cheese...I reciprocated with a cheese of my own and lifted my cc, moved it to a corner of the map and made him tech to mutas. I was just so irritated.

This situation is really the only reason I would ever consider doing this.

I think the guy who offensively GGed had it coming. It's not like it was truly a good game, so he was just being rude. A well deserved punishment!

Here this isn't an ounce of doubt that it's rude. You can't possibly debate that it was just a misunderstanding and the winner is just clumsy and doesn't know how to communicate.

It's not that strange:

loser gg = i lost, good game
winner gg after that = was good for me too

Don't you think that the loser will leave when he feels he's defeated? Saying gg before the loser says it, is like saying him that he lost already, and that he should quit, which isn't particularily well mannered.

GG doesn't only means "good game" in starcraft, it means that the game has actually ended. In fact, it means "i'm defeated".

Hahaha I just made a thread about a guy who lifted off his CC and rax (so that's why everyone thought it was funny) and watched tv while I teched air units.

It wasn't you though because I never call gg for anyone .

@Norfindel: Epic point miss there, buddy. Hammy said that a person should not 'GG' if it was not, in fact, a good game. When before it was pretty much a common courtesy regardless of the quality of the game.

I believe that is in regards to it being an offensive GG. The term takes on different meanings when it is used first by the winner and when it was used as a response to the losers GG. When it is a response it is a common courtesy, when it is used by the winner first it is more like a slap in the face.

-offensive gg = rude
-it's possible the winner would say gg to genuinely express it's a good game. In that case he's just being clumsy.
-when it isn't in fact a good game, there isn't the slightest doubt that the winner is being rude, and it just telling the losing player that he should leave now = rude, and not the slightest bit arguable

Understand now? Or should I say that in smurf language?
