I absolutely hate offensive GGs. Idk why it just irks me. I guess because it implies that I should leave because the game is over. The funny part is that more often then not it just makes me stay in the game as long a possible.

It's bad mannered to do that. I won't do it, even if that means hunting buildings around the map. Seriously, it's a game, what's the hurry? I think that the game's fast pace is beggining to get on their brain, or something![]()

it's ill mannered, and it's almost the code of a starcraft player to glhf in the beginning of the match and loser to admit GG to the winner to show appreciation of a good game, it's good sportsmanship and not a chance to be smug,

I might have been guilty on offensive GGing (I guess you call it) on one or two occasions. I like to do it mostly if I just countered a ling rush or something, so I guess you could say it's kind of taunting. But I would do it when I know they're beat. And if it's done to me I wouldn't think much of it as long as theres no foul mouthing. Personally though, I think calling GG when you used some kind of cheap tactic like rushing is a bit much because... well, was it a good game really?
I know SC is a game of good manners and I attempt good manners more in a game I love, but I don't think it has to go THAT far.

Exactly! And I think the games are much more fun when I REALLY want to crush the other guy because he trash talks or something.I know SC is a game of good manners and I attempt good manners more in a game I love, but I don't think it has to go THAT far.
Speaking of good manners, you guys should go check out the games between Idra and Silver og Huskey's Youtube channel.
Fun! ^^

I GG'ed a team in a 2v2 today. I don't think it was very rude. Let me explain:
My partner was a friend of mine and we had no expectations for a solid ranking because he was trying out random, so you know, fun game. The game indeed turned out to be a fun, long, back and forth match that went on for quite some time. We had never said anything to our opponents the whole game except "gg hf" at the beginning (they didn't say anything back). When it came down to me finally winning the match for us by means of destroying one of their bases, the partner with a fully functional untouched main base (who was resource starved) just left the game with no GG. His partner, who had nothing left really, didn't leave immediately. Because it was such a fun game, I didn't want to let this guy leave without him or her knowing I had fun and that I enjoyed the challenge. So I said "GG!". Then he left. I think they were just plain pissed they lost. Especially since they had completely destroyed my partner at the beginning. However, the game really was good, and they didn't play poorly, someone had to say it.
I don't think it's offensive to call GG, if you've won, in certain situations, and your opp hasn't. For me it's not a 'rub it in', it's a "thanks". Perhaps in that situation in the future I'll just say "thanks for the gg." Who knows.

I go "GG?" sometimes as a question, like "you done?" or "it over?" I don't mean it to be arrogant, I'm just asking is all. Sometimes they respond "yeah GG" sometimes they go "nah" and the match continues. Either way I don't care if its the winner or loser who says GG first.

This happened to me today. I fast expanded to the opposite side of the map when I saw where my opponent was on kulas ravine and he had seen my original base. I proceeded to build only a roach warren, evo chamber and spine crawlers. I saw he was going marauders and siege tanks so I went lair and spire at my expo and he was none the wiser. I moved all my roaches to right outside his base burrowed and massed muta at the expo. I essentially let him trash my main just as he's getting to the extractors he says gg and I reply "Yea, it was." and pop my roaches out. He doesn't even turn around because he thinks those extractors are my last buildings. He gets a face full of muta that he has no recourse for and in the meantime my roaches are eating his base.
This is why I never say gg even when i think I'm winning. I've turned it around on people a couple of times and I think it's embarrassing.
