I always come up with excuses not to ladder... I am too tired, my wife might be home soon and distract me, too nervous, the dog needs walked soon, need to watch more Day9, the planets are not aligned for optimal APM.
My nervous brain is constantly trying to trick me into avoiding the stress of competition. My brain is a wuss. Need to play more games and get used to losing.

My last beta game had someone with bad manners.
We were both zerg. We both made zerglings. He attacked first (with like two to my four), and we ended up zergling "rushing" each other. I won, due to superior macro (surprising even me!). Then he swore at me for rushing him (despite him doing the exact same thing).
Afterward, I found out we were both in the same league, but he had a much higher rank. Guess it wasn't his dayBad manners is no big deal. I think I've only been the victim of bad manners twice through the beta.

What you're experiencing is the thrill of competition. It takes time to train your mind to balance adrenaline with endorphins. This will come about naturally simply by playing.
So, hang in there and sooner or later you won't be nervous anymore.
@Kimera757: I had a similar game. I went to 10 drones, make an overlord, and then made a pool. After the pool was done, I made a Queen and six Zergings. I sent the Zerglings out mostly as a scout. When I got into his base I noticed that his pool was far behind mine and he had nothing. I proceeded to surround and kill several drones. Eventually, of course, his Queen and Zerglings came out and I had to retreat. Then, he started to BM me by saying "6pool fail, cheese more". I have no idea why he would think I six pooled or why an overpool is a cheeseHe was mid-Diamond so it's not like he was a nubby.
All in all, the manners now are a lot worse than they were in beta.

For the most part, just try and ignore the poor mannered players out there. I've run into some interesting people while playing, including one person who told me to "stop lagging," because I was holding up his game(tested my connection speed last night, and download speed was like 26-27 mb/s and upload was roughly 22 mb/s). Some people rage, its annoying and unsporting, but just ignore it as best you can.

Glad to hear about everyone's experiences and that this nervousness happens to a lot of people. I want to play more matches now. =P

The only BM I ever encountered is during placement matches with lower-leagued people. The guys in diamond & plat are experienced enough to not rage whenever they lose, and their purpose is usually to improve/get good games in.
When encountering BM I do what Sahara does & say "you lose. bye". Or I message them after the game & say "hey thanks for xx points bro".
