Taking my sweet time right and I am on the Supernova mission at the time of this post. The story was already spoiled for me I think which is sad but oh well.
Once I complete the game on Normal (with respective normal achievements) I will try out the challenges and eventually start working on 1v1. I will go back to Hard at some point and then eventually brutal.

I'm only getting the achievements so I can unlock profile pictures, TF. Its not like you can do anything with your achievement points.

I wouldn't really call gambling an addiction...more like a healthy and sometimes lucrative hobby.
And by the way, Demo...If I were you, I'd be careful suggesting or accusing anyone of being an addict of anything, considering what it says under your little avatar.![]()

I have to say that I hardly ever care about acheivements and still don't... but I did find a lot of SCII's achievement challenges to be appealing and quite fun. I enjoy the ones that aren't there for the sake of wasting your time. And I can handle going for some without feeling obligated to get them all, which I hear is the hardest aspect of achievements to resist - once you start, you can't stop.
For instance...
On the lava mission: Kill the Brutalisk on Normal difficulty using lava = unique and fun achievement
Win 1000 Quick Matches using Random = Tedious and pointless work if you would rather play as one race.
That's not even a good example either because the multiplayer is fun enough that that wouldn't really be "work" persay, but there are others similar to that one that seem like boring grind work.

The achievements unlike some games actually add more depth to the gameplay by making you complete the mission under different circumstances (kinda the same joy I get playing Impossible Scenarios). Some of them at least offer portraits in the process (which I do like). They're actually kinda fun to hunt for. Granted I haven't really gotten into them yet, but I will.

I don't think the writing or story-line is even remotely poor. It's quite good even. I guess some of you boys must have hated the original SC and BW neh? Can barely even sit through those anymore. How is it even a comparison? It's simply StarWars OT vs PT all over again it seems. OT had just as poor acting as PT etc etc, but we see things with rose tinted glasses yeah?

I love the original SC and BW story, it's awesome and SC2 storyline is not even close
Mass Effect Universe Fan, I support Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for Game of the year award! ME2 still is being the best rated game this year! Keep it up
