so the fallen one may be a Xelnaga being which changed its ways and become evil, thus fallen one...
so this fallen one may be Duran or who he serves...

Duran in my opinion is not the Xel'Naga or the Dark Voice, under his influence yes, but not his flesh or bones (if the Voice has them)

The beings of the Koprulu Sector sometimes refer to the xel'naga as gods. It's possible the Dark Voice is a "fallen" xel'naga.

have you ever thought about the zeratul movie when he fights kerrigan, before she reveals herself he stands before the wall and says something along the lines of: "The Protoss, firstborn of the gods, rose to fight them. now the Xel'naga are returning..." but the picture shown is of a creature the resembles Maar from the mission with the preservers, don't you think?

In the beta, patch 16 referred to the Maar model as Xel'naga Destroyer.
So maybe it was an abandoned plot?

At any rate it's still up in there what Duran's role is in the whole plot, the only thing we're really sure of is that he is going to play a large role. It's weird how all through BW until the secret mission he seemed like he was just a less important villain. Now there is all the mystery surrounding him, he's pulling the strings, it's going to be interesting to see what happens regarding him in the next expansion.

he's likely to become the antagonist of the next expansion in my opinion.
As the Dark voice said in Utter Darkness: "there was but one creature who could...and you mistook her for the true enemy"
Now that we know who the true enemy is(or at least know that Kerrigan is not that enemy) we can pursue it and try to take care of it.
it's like the real villain finally revealed..

That's because Maar is a hybrid destroyer

The Hybrids' unit icons are reffered to as "Xel'Naga" in the game files, but they're both Hybrids.

I think Kimera brought up a very interesting point: if the Tal'darim ultimately serve the Dark Voice, then why did Duran have to steal their artifacts?

The Tal'darim may not serve the Voice directly, at least not yet, as they've not yet been corrupted.

but the picture shown is of a creature the resembles Maar
At a cursory glance, yeah. But its head greatly resembles Artanis' helmet (may just be a random coincidence), and its torso ends in a tail... thing.

I don't know about the history of Tal'darim warriors yet I think that they are just Xel'Naga fanatics
they don't serve the Voice nor they are under it's influence, they are just a side fraction that got their 5 minutes
and yeah just as Kimera mentioned their motives wouldn't make sense if they were working for the Voice
