Facial shape is also similiar. Same with the armor.
Perhaps Duran/Narud was also counting on Raynor assembling the artifact and using it on Kerrigan, so he could have Mengks order Tychus to kill her while she was weak and killable.

Why do you think that? I don't see any evidence to the contrary. I think Duran is working for the Dark Voice, and wanted Kerrigan dead so she doesn't stop him.

I don't know how he would change his appearance that much unless he must have superpowers! Shapeshifting Powers GO!!! Form of an Old German Dude! But in all seriousness I think Duran is the dark voice. I bet you he is an xel'naga that can change his appearance and would explain why he can manipulate people. The Dark Voice says in the game

so it's not the Xel'Naga that creates

I remember that when the preservers are showing the prophecy to Zeratul they also say something about a "fallen one"... and that it starts with a great hunger and ends with pure darkness..
and afterwards they show you the dark voice with his red eyes...
so the fallen one may be a Xelnaga being which changed its ways and become evil, thus fallen one...
so this fallen one may be Duran or who he serves...
