My assumption that they're one and the same mainly rests on the fact that it would be redundant to have two separate entities with practically the same sobriquet. And both eldritch Lovecraftian things loudly proclaiming their nefarious intentions to anyone in the vicinity of hearing. Unless of course they're two of a kind and we're dealing with a whole new race of beings.
