At first I tried just getting 4-5 banshees and a viking to grab relics, maybe snipe a pylon or too, but that didn't work out too well on the last relic. Had 4-5 marauders, 7-10 marines, 2 medics and 3 medivacs to take out the base and move the ground force around to avoid the fire, but as soon as I tried to hit the relic the medivacs got sniped, and everything just died.

I got 3300 kills on the last Protoss Prophesy level on Brutal
Good lord. I barely beat that.

I laid the entire map in cannons and had a legion of Immortals/Collussi/Air/All the heros.

But in the end, I had too many cannons and they cluster-f'ed all my units.
Shit began to crumble REAL fast. In the end, all I had was Artanis and I was at 2495. I just flew around the map desperately trying to find 5 zerglings...I got the last zergling a second before Artanis died.
Though I did save the archieves...I wish I had just gone a little longer..like 3500 kills ...oh well.

Yeah this campaign's difficulty is definitely "Brutal" on brutal. Some maps its like "Wow I basically have to restart from scratch because I'm FUBAR"

And again you had to be pretty big noob about PC not to know about the change, I mean even the birds on the trees knew about it.

In between multiplayer fun...I'm going through the campaign on hard. Still at it. Not in any rush really. It's gonna be a long time before we'll see Heart of the Swarm.

EDIT: that last Protoss mission is a ball-buster on hard...can't imagine the thing on Brutal.

ya lol i ended up using mostly dark templar for that one (on brutal). Now I think i'm on the last mission which is a little similar exept the terrans don't have anything like dark templar. anyone have any suggestions?

Yea, if you defend the archive nydus will appear just around your troops. I had a composition of Immortals, Colossus, Void Rays and the Heroes. So either they died fast or I locked them out with Zeratul's void prision.

Cannons are a waste of minerals, they just die to fast and on brutal the enemy is too armored for them. Gate units are also really weak so I encourage you to use robotics and void rays (carriers are expensive and you can't build them fast enough) You must upgrade as soon as you can too.

Yea, I started out with a zealot/stalker/colossus composition then slowly phased out the stalkers/zealots for VR's once they became available so that I had VR/colossus at the end.

Don't worry it'll probably be the same for me^^

I haven't gotten started on brutal yet since I'm back to multiplayer now and enjoying playing some random, but I know I'll take long breaks between each game on brutal because I get so bored when I have to set up my army before rolling out... That's the main problem I've got with RTS campaign modes (not SC2's single player, solo games in general): you aren't restricted by time enough.
It's like you don't really need to play better to achieve something you failed on your first attempt, you just have to be more patient.

I'm probably just half away from finishing brutal, but it takes me hours to move through a single mission. The easiest mission I have played in brutal is probably "Media Blitz".

Aswell, playing on burtal gives you the confort of getting normal and hard achievements in BRUTAL, wonder if there's an achievement for finishing brutal campaign.

As well, do you guys think there might be a secret if you get over 9000 kills on the Protoss last stand mission?
