    Default Protoss Builds

So I have been playing Toss lately, and using my beta experience I settled into a nice safe Immortal timing push build. I go 9/12, 2 gate robo, and then either tech to fast Immortals to counter mech/roach or fast collosi to counter bio/hydra. It has been working well and I'm sitting comfortably in Gold League right now with 9-3.
However, I know any good Protoss player has more than 1 trick up his sleeve. I need to start practicing other builds and learning other strats. I dislike 10/10 because it feels like cheese and my micro isn't great, but what other build should I commit time to learning?
    3 gate stalker with blink?
    4 gate all-in?
    Rush VRs/DTs?
Seriously, what would be a good secondary build to learn to compliment my fast robo immortal timing push? I know in order to get to Plat (and hopefully diamond) I need to learn to do more than 1 thing.

that isnt really a cheesy build because from what i see its the standard at this moment. if i am against terran i usually tech collosi and immortals then get charge on zealots and its GG and for zerg almost the same but with less immortals (maybe like 2 or 3) and go more twords stalkers and DT.

The 4 Warp Gate build order is an extremely aggressive build that gets you a lot of early game map control and can be used against Terran, Protoss and Zerg fairly effectively. You can also transition quite well out of the build if the game diverges. It is generally weak against 1 base roach however is very strong against fast expanding zerg. You need to deny scouting for this build to be effective.

    9/10 Pylon [Chronoboost probes constantly]
    12/18 Gateway
12/18 Assimilator [3 Probes in Gas As Soon As Possible]
    16/18 Pylon
17/18 Cybernetics Core [Start Warp Gate As Soon as Possible]
    19/26 Gate Gate
Build 2 More Gate Gates As Soon As Possible
    Build Another Assimilator and Pylon
    Turn Gateways into Warpgates.
Make a proxy pylon in the center of the map (out of his view).
[At Around 6 Stalkers and Push]

Thanks for viewing my tutorial. You can find a pro match of this game (from the HDH) WhiteRa vs Taseless here. And you can find HDStarcraft casting a tutorial on it here.

This is not a cheesy build it is just extremely aggressive and something you should know because it lets you capitalize on advantages. I will be writing up more on my feed but I will post here. 3 gate will probably be next because it is quite standard now.

    2 Gate
This is a very aggressive build that pro Protoss players notably “WhiteRa” have used against Zerg players that decide to fast expand. If timed right it can force the opponent to either produce excess zerglings or cancel their hatchery which gives you a big advantage. You generally want to wall off your choke leaving a little gap where 1 zealot can hold in to make a perfect wall. This build is effective on Steppes of War, Blistering Sands and Kulas Ravine due to the short rush distances and or narrow chokes you can use to wall off with the gateways. A general transition into the mid game is to expand and get an economic advantage. You can imagine forcing them to cancel their hatchery and playing 2 base protoss against 1 base zerg. Note this is not a fool proof build you cannot let your zealots get surrounded and you need around 5 before you push. Anyway into the build:

    9/10 Pylon
    10/18 Chrono Boost Nexus
    12/18 Gateway [Save Chrono Boosts]
    12/18 [Probe Scout]
    14/18 Gateway
    15/18 Pylon
    16/18 [Stop Probe Production]
[Create 3 Zealots, Using Chrono boost]
[Move Out With Zealots + Probes]
    20/26 Pylon
[Create 2 Zealots, Using Chrono boost]
    [Reinforce the Push]
    26/34 [ Resume Probes]
    27/34 [ 1 Zealot To Block Wall-in Choke]

    Analysis:
This build requires the cutting of probes and if it is successful defended you are in a pretty bad situation however you can still recover. To make up for the economic damage you suffered you need to start massing probes and generally an expansion is the best idea. Some will then tech to forge tech and place cannons to defend the expansion and get sentries to wall against potential counter attacks . There are a lot of options but you should be wary of the counter attack (unless you do serious economic damage which is the aim). During the push after canceling their expansion it is typical to use the zealots to wall of the opponents choke with hold position if you cannot push in and take the win.

Not a problem I am glad I could help If you want any more protoss build order tutorials I will be glad to post them just tell me sort of build you want an I will analyze it and show you how the pros use it and some of the key areas of build that need to be utilized to make it smooth and effective. I am thinking of doing a 3 gate build tutorial soon because it is really standard for Protoss and you will need a foundation in it if you want to move up to mid-high diamond.
