    WoW, such variation.

Personally I maxed out the bunker and turret, buildings self-repair to 50%, marine, medic, tank, viking.. and that's about it. You don't, or I didn't, need anymore than that. I played it through on hard. I did wonder what I should spend all that cash on though.

At the research consol I took
    (Protoss) +Attack - Depo - SCV's - Raven Tech reactor
(Zerg) Bunker - Planetary Fortress (I never used it) - Hercules (I never used) - Celluar reactor (Quite useful if you use Ravens) - Psi disruptor (essential for the last map as others have pointed out)

Stim and improved medic heal, so you can steamroll with infantry. Goliath being able to attack ground/air at the same time was incredibly useful so I maxed that unit. I also concentrated on the Banshee and Wraith, so I can assault bases undetected along with my perma-cloaked spectres. And the double addon was such a wonderul addition as well.

Anyone know how to get all the achievements for the upgrades?

It looks like it will require multiple play throughs which is weird considering all the other achievements can be attained by replaying your completed campaign.

A fleet of Vikings and a fleet of Banshees can really dish it out to the Zerg. As for the Protoss, Goliaths and Diamondbacks with a couple Science Vessels do the job.

I went all BCs and Siege Tanks (mercs too) for the All In mission, also had the zerg slow Disruptor and I took out the air units in the previous mission.

What I did was not spend all my money at first. Eventually I reloaded a previous game and completed a few missions again on Hard to get a crapload of credits and lab bonuses. Then I saved game, bought out a set, reloaded, bought out another set, etc. Once you get the achievement it's permanent so you can spend and then reload to get your credits back.

Yeah, the Science Vessels laugh at the stupid Ravens. Free, fast repair for mech units is so useful, that the Raven has really no chance

I'm bumping this up because I have a question regarding upgrades when replaying old missions, especially in a different difficulty mode.

I finished the game in normal a while back, and now I want to do a playthrough in hard and brutal without bothering losing my campaign session. When you finish the game and you load the campaign it just gives you the "archives" console.
How do upgrades work in that regard? And mercs and research? Clearly I don't get all upgrades from the get-go (after playing the game in normal and getting all upgrades, you don't still have the upgrades when you play mission#1 in brutal), but do they get added in automatically? Same for research?
Or if i ever want to get them, do I need to start a new campaign? Playing all missions in brutal without the upgrades seems like a massive waste of time.

IIRC, when you do a mission from the archives like that you get whatever tech, research and mercs you had when you originally did that mission.

As for different difficulty, you begin a new campaign and you start over on all accounts.
    SC2 handle - "DrakeyC, code 929"

I ARE A PROPHET! I've predicted three major aspects of SC2 correct, more or less.

June 2007 - I predicted the Protoss campaign would give you new tech as you conducted diplomacy among tribes.

July 18th 2010 - I predicted Raynor would broadcast information of Mengsk's actions on Tarsonis to discredit him and incite rebellion.

June 16th 2010 I predicted the Voice in the Darkness was the commanding force behind the Hybrids. I'm calling it half-right.
