    Default Terrible campaign

The whole thing sucked except for gabriel tosh. i feel bad for dissing him so much, he turned out to be the only thing good about it. what an awful ending (what the fuck? i thought she was meant to be doing it all of her own free will anyway after the overmind died. she was just evil). man i'm disappointed. jim raynor became so lame between games. and that hybrid was pathetic, for a perfect super-being he sure talked a lot of shit and failed to back it up (i think about four zealots could kill him). mengsk was a caricature, lost all his charisma. it wasn't even very fun, there were way too many missions where you were defending something or escorting something or waiting on dumb timers instead of just building up a shit load of units and attacking a base. i can't believe this game took a decade to make!

sorry i don't like being negative but i didn't enjoy this much at all, hope other people did though

oh yeah, and the game became so easy once i got self-healing vehicles and ships, reactor command centre, mules, reactor labs etc. i was only playing on hard difficulty, however, i haven't tried brutal yet.

edit: the bit where hanson turned into a monster was cool, SOME of the music was pretty good, and the graphics were great. also, gabriel tosh was cool (surprisingly). AND i laughed at the heavy metal song at the end. it wasn't all bad.

I agree. Cannot say more because you are going to get a flamestorm coming towards you.
    Also, the cinematics were pathetic.

I am extremely sad I payed so much for the game and waited with so much anticipation.

Remember the cinematic in starcraft 1?

The one on the science vessels with 6 or so marines fighting?

    ending in everything blowing up?

That cinematic was superior in every way to the sc2 cinematics, even graphically

The graphics used there made it look so much more serious and dark

TELL ME ABOUT IT. half of the dialogue was stupid senseless gibbering about prophecies and artifacts. blizzard, in your next game can we please have none of either, keep that shit for WoW. the music was terrible in the cinematics too, all soaring and triumphant and totally contrary to the mood of the original game. the end cinematic was so stupid and sentimental i didn't even feel like laughing at it. i mean seriously, WHY WOULD THEY NOT KILL KERRIGAN. i don't care if she can save the universe, she needs to die. she's a great character but only when she's a villain, not when blizzard tries to redeem her.

just as a sidenote, what sort of shitty dictatorship was mengsk running anyway? his censorship was pathetic, that chick on the news was saying whatever she wanted. in a real totalitarian state she would have vanished in the middle of the night. i still liked mengsk more than all the "heroes" even though he was a shadow of his former self.

this is why it's so aggravating...we've been waiting so long for this game and all it's good for is making the original seem even better by comparison

edit: sorry guys, i've got to get this out of my system. why the fuck did blizzard ask me for my real name and my address and all that before i could play the game IN SINGLEPLAYER? of course i gave them fake ones. they're not getting shit out of me

and i am just talking about the singleplayer game, multiplayer might rule the school, i haven't tried it yet. my internet's fucked atm

second edit: ALSO, this game is buggy as fuck. maybe it's just the mac version, but the game deleted all my saves when i was halfway through the campaign and i had to start again. i'm just glad i've finished it now, gonna give it to my mate and hopefully get some reading done.

    Whats wrong with you all?
It's a 2 completely whole campaigns left if so don't you worry about the story.

Also I think it was executed extremely well being linked up so well, but you can still play it even though you have never played sc1. Also the unit introduction was great. I used everyone of the units, maybe not in every mission but I used them.

I'll just say I'm fairly disappointed.

I didn't have as much fun as I hoped I would, and by the end I felt kind of... empty.

    Are you crazy ?

So the game can be mediocre because there are two campaigns left ? Please think about what you said right there.

If unit introduction is so important to you, then I am happy for you. I, for one, prefer storytelling and immersion. None of which excited me in this game.

    Again, cinematics sucked BALLS.

I also felt empty squidbro. The "showdown" was less of a show and more of a down for me =(

I'm realy wondering and bafled on what you guys were actualy expecting from the campaign?

So since the campaign was so bad and such a disapointment, would you care to show me any other rts game campaign which is bether?
For me WOL it's still the best rts campaign experience i've had in this decade. Yes the campaign could be done much bether, and lots of things could be and should be improved, but it is still miles ahead of all the other rts campaign that were released in the last few years.
How can something be terrible, if it's bether than everything else in it's category?

I were more leaning on that the story isn't finished yet.....

    I know one game

    Starcraft 1

There aren't many strategy games out there shooting for a serious campaign
    (like red alert/cnc series)
Or they don't have such a campaign (total war games etc)

Starcraft 2 just didn't cut the cake
