Thread: A tip when playing campaign, if interested in achivements

Default A tip when playing campaign, if interested in achivements

If you're interested in getting achivements, I'd recommend reviewing the achivement list before playing a missions and seeing what is needed for each. There's 3 achievements per level, and many of these can be esoteric goals...like the following.

    Hidden Content:
Kill the Brutalisk with rising lava.

Review the list and look for the achievements that have the mission name in them. There's typically 2 for normal difficulty and one for hard.

Don't read this if you haven't gotten to the part where Raynor meets Zeratul in the Hyperion
    Hidden Content:
How do you survive the first Zeratul mission without taking any life damage on hard? I barely survived with any HP and had to blink my way out because I was surrounded by stupid lings. Are there cheats? :P

"If you want to get achivements find out what is required for them". Ok good advice but:

I donīt think you should try to get all achievements on the first playthrough. Knowledge of the mission is basically required to get the hard achivements.

Some advice I can give you. I'm marking it with a spoiler just in case:

I didn't even know it was an achievement until after the fact, but I managed to do it by just letting my shields recharge; I didn't know what to expect in the level, so I made sure I was always at full shields. It's actually not too difficult once you get the hang of it--I'm sure it'll be easier on your second run-through. As trite as it sounds, be patient.

For the last part, just send your stalkers in first or let them get surrounded. Void Prism [?] the structures/units that you think will hit you for sure or are just scared of.

To be fair, I DID play a Mage in WoW for about 4 years. It was kind-of-but-not-really like playing a mage!

I don't think that is the achievement you should be worried about It was fairly easy (and fun ) But I did save alot because I was unshure, but I didn't have to use load.

The train mission and the odin one, thats where it gets seriously hard...
**Idk if this needs spoilers? It's not really saying anything at all for those who doesn't know what I speak of.

Really? I thought the achievements for the train level were some of the easiest in the game--save the first missions, of course. I got them by just building a freaking monster squadron of siege tanks; the trains--as well as the Maruders--in like 5 seconds from 15-or-so sieged tanks entrenched on the train tracks.

Finding the bones and Diamondbacks was annoying, though. I made Viking mercs to scout the map for them. The "Find all the X" achievements are so tedious for me for some reason. Not only do I have bad eyesight, but I evidently get distracted too easily.

It depends what route you go the missions at. For one, I didn't have tanks at the train level, so that made it harder for me.

Question - do you get current tech for replaying missions? Or only the tech you got from starting that particular mission? I'm replaying some older missions and I don't seem to have current tech. Namely the 'survive for 20 minutes' mission early on (mission 2? 3?)

If you're doing the campaign on brutal, I don't advise trying to get all achievements at the same time because some are nearly(to not say clearly) impossible on brutal. So you should either focus on finishing on brutal or playing at lower difficulties to get all achievements.

    @endserenading
Yeah, sorry I meant playing it on brutal. But I barely had any units at all, a couple of marines, firebats, medics and the diamonbacks :P (might have had a few more units though...)

They seemed really though to be starter missions, that's the problem. Maybe I just played through the campaign backwards :P
