    Default Are the races balanced?

Hello all. I have been reading here and there that people think the game is balanced pretty well but that zerg needs some work, either with a new unit or a fix to the "roach food problem." As someone who has been reading about strategies, techniques and opinions during the break between phase 2 and release, I am wondering if there is any credence to this. Thanks!

Just as StarCraft required expansion, patches, and certain map features to be balanced, so will StarCraft 2 be subject to constant tweaking. Personally I feel the races have too many units right now and could have done with saving some, like the Reaper, for expansions.

I don't see how anything you said there is "OP", perhaps you should follow up your thoughts with explanations. Infestors require good micro and can be easily countered when focus fired properly, as well as if they are moving while burrowed and try to IT drop your base you should have detectors to counter that if you see that the zerg is indeed producing infestors. The High Templar is anything but OP, most people view the unit as being entirely useless, i am inclined to disagree as i use it quite often, however even with my often usage of it i'd still say the unit is barely viable. Marine marauder and medivac is just a silly thing to say is OP. Zerg may not have as many units but they have high macro capabilities and their units have distinct abilities that can act as counters like every other race's units. As far as i'm concerned the game has only just came out of beta and while there still are changes to be made the balance as a whole currently is quite well done.

And you, Mrjiggles, are underwhelming with your ignorance. Learn the right counters before posting this.

The races are all very balanced right now. After phase 2, the only issue there could be is the burrowed infestor spellcasting, but now that I think about it, it really isn't op at all. Detection is taken for granted in this game, unlike BW. If the player doesn't get enough detection and dies to burrowed infestors, it is the player's fault.

Everything in the game has accountability, and in recent videos / games of phase 2, we are seeing more and more creative ways to use units that may become mainstream after the release day.

There are no op units. Take the marauder, for example. This was considered op for a long time in early beta, only because players didn't know the answer to handle them. Now, marauders are not nearly a problem to deal with in a bio-ball than marines, and in a biomech mix: tanks. Blizzard had recognized that auto-targeting of the tanks was really too good for the damage dealt and nerfed the damage. Again, any situation arising with some minor tweaks required will warrant similar responses.

So far, no specific build or unit is op. Everything is almost perfect now.

Only minor tweaks will be needed, such as build time adjustments or slight attack/health buffs/nerfs.

Maybe a few of the late-game spellcasters (I'm talkin' to yo, Mommaship) might have some spell changes, but now that the game is being released I doubt there will be any major changes.

SCII was well balanced when the Beta began (aside from the quickly rectified roach, reaper and Mommaship issues). It is better balanced now, and even more entertaining (aside from Corruptors, who have become consistently less interesting).

These... Please specify on how a unit is op... Like how in the world can all three workers be op? Do they all have some special ability that pwns units that I don't know about? If there is something wrong, explain the problem clearly otherwise you will just leave us confused (done with lecture)

Most important thing I will ever say. This will change your lives.

Everything is OP. And thus nothing is.
