    You should look into overclocking that 4400+ ...I have a 3800+ OC'd from 2.0 to 2.5

    I tried!

Unfortunately, my 3-years-ago inexperienced noob self did not realize that buying OEM meant that I can't OC my thing, thanks to the wonderful idiots at Lenovo. I can use SetFSB to soft OC my CPU to 2.6GHz with minor instability, and 2.5GHz stable, but the Soft OC feels so dirty and the boost is so minor, I don't bother with it anymore.

The only original parts in that rig are truly the motherboard and processor. Everything else is upgraded

Scratch that. It was something wrong with the disk-drive.

Say, does bnet track the machine you load it to? - For instance, if I loaded it to my work computer, (and then uninstalled) would it prevent me from loading to my home computer?

Need to upgrade my internet connection, so not able to load it to my desktop just yet.

However, In in my desperation, I tried loading it to my work laptop (which is well below the required specs - 2ghz dc processor, 1 gb of ram, and connects via aircard)

Long story short, it worked; including a connection to B.net. Thinking it would be too slow to do anything fancy, I played the 'Very easy' opponent - it ended up being incredibly smooth, (on the lowest settings) and only a couple of big stalls/hiccups whever the enemy moved out to attack.

Not the best, but I can now say I've played SC2

Just FYI, and this may have been mentioned, the game can run comfortably on low setting even if some components don't meet minimum requirements. My friends computer was a real cheapy. It has a semperon processor in it, but we got him up to 3gigs of ram and a decent graphics card and he runs the game at 25-30 fps on a mixture of low/medium settings. Of course just because it works for him doesn't mean I'd recommend buying the game and just going for it. See if you can get a guest pass and mess around with that. My buddy was in the beta so we knew it would work out ok for him, but if he'd told me his specs I'd have told him to forget it.
How do I get a guest pass?

So... I'm able to run it on the very lowest settings, but as soon as I get more than two tabs of units on the screen at a time, it starts to lag quite a bit. Other than that, it runs smoothly. IS there anything I can do to improve this without actually having to spend anything or is it all just reliant on my graphics card and RAM?

Hey guys. I'm not very tech savvy. But I'm in the market for a new laptop.
I want it to be able to run Starcraft 2 single player on high settings (preferrably ultra).
I would also like it to run the multiplayer on at LEAST medium settings without frame rate dropping during big fights.

Here's the laptop which I have chosen for myself...
I believe it meets all of blizzards recommended specs.

I just wanted to ask you guys whether you think it can do what I want it to do.
I would very much appreciate any feedback you can give.

You picked a BEAST- but do note, you aren't going to get amazing battery life out of this laptop. ASUS has a great track record, and I generally pick them over HP or Dell.

So, yeah - you should get that one.
