    Default Mac Issues and Requirements?

No need to chew me out for owning a Mac, as I'm already feeling a slight bit of resent towards Apple for the compatibility issues with games. But, I'm curious if anyone from beta has any feedback on running a MacBook. I know the computer meets all the requirement needs, except for perhaps the graphics card, which worries me a bit. Apple apparently feels the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M is a good choice for their computers, which I unfortunately disagree with. So, anyone from beta have any experience with a similar computer? Any idea if I'll be able to run SC2?

Ya . Love the OS, and everything about them, except for the gaming aspect. I don't play a huge number of games, but Apple's incompatibility with games irritates me to no end.

I play on a slightly older regular MacBook (not a pro), and I can run this game perfectly fine on medium settings. Everything looks nice and clear, but the resolution is a bit off-kilter and sometimes it's difficult to see some UI text--which, if you have absolutely terrible eyesight like I do, can kind of suck. Then again, once you get used to the game you won't really have to read a lot of UI text.

Obviously don't expect to run this game on higher settings on a MacBook. High-end gaming on a Mac is ludicrous.

The only real complain I have about playing SC2 on my MacBook is the fact that it gets infernally hot. If I play for a long period of time I feel like I have a fever due to the heat of the keyboard, haha.

This is most excellent news. Glad to hear its playable on medium settings. I was planning on getting a new cooling pad when I went to pick up my copy Tuesday anyway, so that should help me with the heating issue.

I own a macbook pro and I play SC2 on my 24inch external cinema display at 1920x1200 in all its beauty (well on medium) but it runs at around 50fps.

Those are usually cheap at 15-20$ and can save you from a lot of that heat.
Ya, some of them are compatible. The only thing is they are often too big for the computer, as the 13" MacBook is a sort of odd size for a computer. There are also a few non electronic cooling mats, although I haven't heard too much about them.

I'm considering investing into one of those as well, but I'm pretty broke right now .

I'm sure that the newer generation MacBooks (more specifically the newer MacBook Pro) run the game even better than mine does.

I forgot to mention that the Mac SC2 client seems to run a little worse than the PC one. It's a bit choppier, if anything. Other than early beta issues, I've had just about zero problems with the Mac client--less than the PC client, to be honest. When I close SC2 it sometimes slows down my computer for a minute or two, but I notice that with a lot of games.

Mine is a late '09, early '10 one, so I'm hoping it will work out. I'm assuming it should be alright, since I would think Blizzard would want their game to run on what I assume is the most common mac.

As for the client, ya, I would expect the PC one to run a little better, just the way the world of gaming works. I assume BootCamp would fix it, but I'm kinda averse to the idea, since it sorta defeats the reason I purchased a Mac in the first place.
