    No, only one.

Don't give your brother the password

It would be nice for them to allow a number of additional accounts. Maybe limit them somehow, like no access to the forums, or share the same nick, don't allow two of the linked accounts to play at the same time, or something like that?

A big part of the 1 account, 1 character philosophy is to prevent smurfing. Unless Blizzard can come up with some other viable cure for smurfing, there's only going to be one character and one account per person.

The one character could have the same record which is what I heard would happen.

    I have a question:

On this topic, I have 1 bnet account (obviously ) and I am going abroad. Can I first install my WoL copy here in Canada on my home comp, then go to Mauritius and install it on my bro-in-law's new comp there? I will of course play it for a couple of days here, first.

Then to play over there, I just use my own bnet account and use offline mode? Or do I not even need to use the bnet account for offline at all?

How would this work, because I am going to be out of Canada for a whole month (for my wedding - can't miss it unfortunately).

I think it can be assumed that you can only have your BN account logged-in from one computer at the time, and must obey the region lock, but you can ask Blizzard about it.

Yeah, for the part about having my account logged on from 1 comp at a time, I'm covered. But the region lock is what is making me think. I'll call Blizzard when their office opens in 40 mins

You have to use your bnet account at least once (to install at your brother-in-law's place). I suspect this is possible; just carry your DVD there, install it on his comp and use your email address/bnet account password.

Not that I know this for sure; obviously you're better off asking Blizzard.

    When is that anyway?

Region locking sounds like an issue, but I was under the impression you get to pick your region and can even change it, but cannot play outside your current region. But that's not an issue if you never play online while in Africa.

In the previous Blizzcon, during the battle.net panel, they were discussing the idea of having 3-5 characters per account. That was, unfortunately, pretty much the last time they mentioned it with the obvious credo that was something they were exploring and could be subject to change.

Since then, not anything has mentioned it, and some people in the forum suggested that there was a bluepost somewhere that stated directly it was 1 character per starcraft account, but I haven't seen it sourced. I don't disbelieve that it exists, but I've watched the bluetracker rather well in the last year and did not see it.

In discussions in the past, someone mentioned a theory that felt about right, regarding the character select screen. While it's ORIGIN may involve the 3-5 character mentality, it's use can come in the same fashion as multiple WoW Accounts attached to a single B.net account. After you log in, it asks you which "account" you want to log in on.

This is important functionality for multi-boxers or whatnot. The difference is, if a b.net account only has one wow account, this menu doesn't even show up, as it's unneccessary.

The theory continues to support the theory of wanting to have multiple region copies of SC2 on the same B.net. Then you can have, in example, the character "Gifted" for US, and when you associate a second SC2 for Europe, you can have "CoolerGifted" for EU (Or just another "Gifted" but frankly that example might be confusing)

That's the best explanation/suggestion on the theory, unless, like the original Blizzcon announcement, they surprise us with multiple character creation... as they DO support a minor as part of the aggreement for playing the game. We'll see though, only this insignificant amount of "oh gawd it will never end" time will tell.

You should be able to play, but logged into the NA servers. Lag could maybe be an issue, or not, but you should be able to log-in. Still, ask Blizzard about it.
