that video sucks, Starcraft universe probably needs 20 books and few movies to cover all the story, but they decided to do it in 5 minutes!

Those ign guys probably don't even know 1/4 of the SC story !

This kind of videos are so stupid and should never be done!

I actually found it kind of a funny parody. Wasn't hilarious, just enough to warrant a chuckle.

Overall, yeah, I agree that the humour was of poor taste but the sequence of events is pretty accurate.

In such adolesence, I didn't know the name "Duran" was actually independent of the band Duran Duran; I honestly thought the character was a blatant reference to the band. That is the ignorance and stupidity a child born in the aftermath of the eighties must unfortunately overcome, I guess.

Even if I wasnt a SC guru and just a normal gamer - I would be offended by IGN's recent SC2 articles... Their articles are written for people whose only gaming experience is farmville - not exactly the type of person who visits IGN.

This was pretty much the only funny line I heard.

The rest was pointless, as they rushed through it so quickly that no newcomers would have any idea what's really going on in the sc universe. I think they should have spent some more time thoroughly explaining things and less time trying to be clever - they failed at that.

Might I point out that it was Blizzard themselves who decided that Facebook integration is more important than chat channels?

And that...facebook has a little something on it called farmville?

The movie served it's purpose as a chuckle-inducing, parody-like recap. Also, one of IGN's recent articles (this one) about SC2 went so far as to give a good description of how RTS games work for people who have never even heard of them.

Again, It was Blizzard who decided they wanted to appeal to the slobbering masses of Facebook, so kudos to IGN for actually writing some articles for those types of people. Maybe, just maybe some of them will become actually educated about what PC games are supposed to be about.
